I've been wanting to add this for a while, but have been too lazy to. Basically Little Glee Monster is a Japanese group made up of extremely talented  singers. They debuted on Sony Records Label in 2014, and have had some success in Japan. They also performed in San Francisco in September. One of the members, Fukumoto Manaka was initially rumored to be auditioning for the first round of Morning Musume "Mirai Shojo" Audition. But she later confirmed that it wasn't the case, and she later joined this group.

 

They sad news, with the YouTube Red change, a lot of their stuff is impossible to watch in America. Since they're under Sony, I'm not sure if you can even watch it outside of Japan. However, they do have a Vevo channel in which they're two recent Music Videos are on. And they're stuff is available on US iTunes. I would recommend checking out the Japanese YouTube channel, they have a lot of really cool and awesome covers on there that really showcases their talent.

I heard their cover of Cups and it was great. I've been keeping an eye on them for a while but it's harder to follow a group when their stuff's unaccesible on youtube.

They have gotten harder to follow recently with the blockage. The sad thing is, they actually seemed to be appealing to international fans since they subtitled the first talking bit of Seishun Photograph. But I'll deal with it, it isn't hard to get their stuff. And I looked on the tracker, a lot of it is there.

I really enjoy this group and cannot wait for their first major album to be released. I just wish their releases would be available on the US iTunes closer to the Japanese release dates for them.

This group is fantastic, but correct me if I'm wrong and I know the line is blurred, especially here, but do they (or their management) consider them "Idols"?? Are they not a performance/vocal group, like TGS is now? It is kind of brilliant to promote this terrifically professional group with Idol promotion and style (costumes, handshakes, events and such).. I just have never heard them refer to themselves or be referred to as an Idol group per se.

I honestly have no idea. They have the member colors which made me think of them more as an idol group, but their level of performance is definitely beyond that of a normal one.

From what I have noticed with their marketing they are being pushed as a "vocal group" over an "idol group". So the focus is mostly on their vocals and not their characters/personalities like it usually is with idols, but those lines do tend to blur especially with the current idol boom.

Just to update on them a little bit. They had a new song that was used on a CM recently called "Happy Gate"

 

 

And they also performed a new song called "Never ending dreamer"
