I would assume so. Their album sales are really good If I remember correctly. But definitely has something to do with company's profile though. I just think they are more out there than C-ute. I always get the idea that C-ute has loyal fans and maybe a steady growing fanbase for a while...but not to the point of popular though?

E-Girls is on TV all the time, they've appeared at Kouhaku multiple years, they have tons of product tie-ins, and they perform in arenas (and domes, with EXILE). Expand your musical horizons and you'll find that H!P as a whole is really not that popular or even that well-known outside of the idol sphere.

Yeah and their album they released this year sold 250k which is nothing to sneeze at.

The thing with E-girls is they weren't really popular, but because of their big company they got to appear on Kouhaku. After that, they're popularity soared. They are just more of a digital selling artist.

Their appearance on Kohaku was the year they had a very successful album release. Their rise in popularity had already begun.

Thing is, E-girls is pretty much a combination of other groups piled together (Flower, Happiness, Dream etc) so.... This sounds far fetched, but I would like to see H!P try something like that. I would like to see them have H!P singles where they have a "senbatsu" of about 20 members from all the groups, and the people in each single gets determined by how well they've improved. 

 

Seems a little too much like AKB when written, but i think it would cool for H!P to have something like that

^ I personally would like that idea, if executed well. The problem is, most probably H!P are just gpnna choose the popular members anyways, and fans will just get even more upset ...so...may not be too great of an idea, unless they actually do rotate the members around : / (ie maybe pick like 9 singers from all the groups, and then 10or remaining dancers/performers but actually do rotate them around after each single) Don;t think it'll happen anytime soon though despite it may solve the problem of too little single per group these days

I would have loved Kacchoi Uta as the main side. There have been some great mash-ups where every member back then got a solo, too. It's not an impossible thing to do.

Honestly though, is UF at all interested in pushing H!P like that? I don't really think so. After the big heyday was over, H!P kinda settled into a niche sort of thing.. and now they're getting to have their cake and eat it too, by keeping it a dedicated niche and still selling decently well.

 

I know it's all about business at the end of the day, but if they were truly wanting to rake in the cash, I feel like they would've done that already.

 

I kind of have to agree. It makes me a bit bitter that they haven't started doing more tours as a result (as in, more halls to have much more intimate lives, with a dome or arena every once in a while).

We're on it now. They and Nogizaka are very firmly the current boom for idols.
