Kobushi Factory (こぶしファクトリー)

That said, I was really excited about Kobushi this past year. They’re an amazing group full of good singers (minus Hama-chan, as she’s a little flat like Maimi... but she could have improved for sure if given more time), good dancers and overall great performers who are one of H!P’s strongest right now in live settings. They reminded me of C-ute in that way (tho with more Airi/Chisa-level good singers lol), and I was excited to see them regain their ground the same way C-ute did (and the same way S/mileage did, too). The fact that they’re walking away now is really sad, because they have the potential to be so much more — that’s the saddest part of it to me, regardless of the “why”.
Juice is now the only group I’m still really interested in, but with Juice now a rotational group, I don’t know how long that will last. I prefer fixed line-ups, so I really appreciated Kobushi’s choice to not add new members before, but also not to add them now and just let the group end here. Sometimes it’s better to end a group than to try to keep reviving it with new members, because then it loses an identity of its own in my opinion, and becomes just another rotational group.
Best of luck to the girls... really hoping to see Minami continue to sing because the girl got my attention and kept me interested in H!P through all the crazy changes of the last few years that have been a hit after hit to my interest in and love of H!P. I’d like to be able to continue to see her shine and hear her voice and support her.

^ I couldn't agree more.
I'm not happy with J=J's new addition despite thinking both girls are some of the most promising young idols in H!P right now. I like that stable lineups give groups an ending to work towards. I guess we're going to see J=J, ANGERME, and Momusu (and it seemed like Country Girls could have gone the same way for a while) just carry on till the company goes bankrupt now. I could deal with ANGERME and Momusu since they worked as rivals and seemed to follow different systems for adding new members. Nowadays it seems like all three groups are more like dumping grounds for promising KSS (or in this case, members of disbanding groups) that the company doesn't want to lose but also doesn't know what to do with.
I'm thankful for 5nin Kobushi. alongside Tsubaki and recently beyonds, they were one of the only groups in H!P that seemed to have any direction to me recently. I guess that direction was towards disbandment, which sucks, but I think it's at least better than no direction at all. Hopefully we'll see the girls pull off some amazing performances in their final months as a group.

IF Kobushi added some new members (after Kobushimaggedon)
Maybe they will get another momentum, fans will look for them again, especially new members. Maybe started to forget about the event in the past. I think this is the successful formula from upfront regarding graduation.
But, that was just my wild thinking, nevermind..

That was so much fun. They really seemed to have enjoyed it.
I love that they used the fan song rankings from Ayapan's blog.
And a very nice touch bringing out the birthday cake a little early for Sakurako.

Notes from Hoshibe Sho on Kobushi Factory's final single (as well as a short summary of those five years...)
I highly recommend reading it...

I always had a funny feeling that songs that he wrote for Kobushi were somehow... different/special...?
And now, Hoshibe-san confirms it himself... it's amazing how he speaks of KF as his pears...

i'm so excited to see their future activities after kobushi! i wonder if any of them are going to try a solo music career? it's super unlikely but it'd be cool to see, especially with all the h!p members going solo recently.
