But recently they change their image into sexy image.... and I still love them

Pledis' financial situation has been floating around the internet for awhile now. It's only recently that it has been put out in the public for all to see.
I feel if it wasn't for the success of Orange Caramel last year, Seventeen's debut would of been delayed another year. But I could be completely wrong and have no true grasp what actually is happening within the company.

It's still sad that both groups are struggling to stay relevant within the market.

Nah, Seventeen would have debuted regardless. Pledis has invested too much into them and they're probably literally the company's only hope. The unfortunate reality is that while OC are still popular, their sales continue to decrease and they probably bring in less money each year.

As for Stellar... It's not working. Their song leaked at 80 digitally and then fell and the physical sales market in Korea is practically on life support so it's unlikely they're gonna sell a lot that way either. They also were not invited to perform on Music Bank or Music Core this week. The shock shtick won't ever take them to the top. If there's any place where not all publicity is good publicity it's Kpop.

Except obviously not. These girls could all have been T-ara members if it was 2009. Guess this company has a type.

With groups like these I'm always wondering why they even bother, there's another 20 groups out there exactly like them looks- and stylewise.

Ther company needs new blood. They haven't had a single successful group since T-ara. And they're all in ther late 20s and probably will want to move onto new things soon, especially since they've lost a lot of popularity in Korea. With Davichi gone their company pretty much has no one else bringing in money consistently.

So I was on some KPOP Fan forum, and they were talking about how Girlfriend is one of the least talented rookie girl groups this year, being compared to Oh my Girl and Lovelyz. What do you all think?

Me, personally, I think that Oh my Girl is the best rookie girl group. Closer was absolute perfection: perfect choreo, perfect music, perfect vocals.

I completely agree. It did take me a few listens but now I'm completely sold on Closer. Also, their debut with Cupid was the cute concept that all the rookie groups were doing right then but to me it stood out, although I'm not sure why that was.

 

For me personally, I find Lovelyz and GFriend to be incredibly boring. They win in the name department (not by much though lol) but to me they sound like carbon copies of Apink (and April is the same). Gotta give it to GFriend for being absolute troopers in that one performance though.

It's a shame that they're from a small company but then again there's every chance they can get big by themselves.

Hey, BTS came from a small company and they're pretty well known now. With Closer, I know that Oh my Girl can become a success.

They aren't anymore since 2014.

And yes, it does count. Big Hit Entertainment was still a much smaller company than JYP despite being associated with it, so BTS succeeding under them is still a big deal.

Worth mentioning that Oh My Girl are not their company's only group. B1A4 is under them and do relatively well when they're not inactive.

Gfriend are alright. They're overhyped because they have actual choreo but Lovelyz are overhyped because they're from Woolim and people are pretending that they're super unique for not having sexy concepts.

Gfriend are the most successful although tbh I find just how much kind of suspicious.
