A lot of the more casual fans are only seeing her properly for the first time when she entered MoMusu, so she's definitely getting more popular due to exposure.
Event was fun, but I was so far away from the stage~(19th row...I was literally like 3rd row in Haachin's BD event so wish I could've traded, lol). Much prefer Tokyo FM Hall since it's smaller and you can see them properly from anywhere but oh well...
At the start of the event she came out from kinda behind the audience and walked right in front of me since I was in the first occupied row in front of the hall path. Actually walked past there twice, and since I was right in the middle of that row with no one in front of me I'll likely be on the DVD unless they reaaaallly zoomed in on Chii alone. She asked some questions to random audience members like "Where did you come from?" (they answered Hokkaido) and "What do you like about me?" (answer: smile/ears that turn red). A cake was carried onto the stage and it was both white and orange! There were oranges in the shape of a heart on top and the rest of the cake was white, pretty creative. They briefly talked about who messaged her and actually quite a lot of them sent a BD message right at midnight, during which Chii was actually talking on the phone with Haachin. We sang her a birthday song of course and then the first corner started.
Keita was the MC and the first corner was a...radio corner! She had to pretend to do a solo radio show and she pulled out questions from a box filled with our audience questions. Keita, pretending to be the radio director, kept making annoying requests to make her nervous/agitated even if she wanted to move on to the next question. Things like "I love Chii too much, what should I do?" (Chii: "Eh...I think it's ok if you keep liking me even more.") and "What is something you'd like to try out this year?" (Chii: "Drums and guitar!"). Keita forced her to repeat the answer in English and she let out a simple "Play guitar!". She was also asked if something about her changed upon entering Morning Musume and she said "My character". She didn't knew she was "this kind of character" but didn't really elaborate on it, and the audience didn't really seem to fully understand either. There hasn't really been that much of a shift in her character to be honest, she's just a little more mature due to Morning's songs but I think she's barely shown a character in the new group. Then there was a radio PR message, which she had to repeat twice, which was totally a tongue twister...but she did rather well! Lots of cute Chii gestures throughout this corner as she was getting flustered.
Then the second corner was a series of games in which she could win a prize (Chii: "I want a Pomeranian!". no that wasn't the prize). She had to draw something (a parfait) and Keita had to guess what it was. It was done pretty well so he got it in one try. Then there was one bit where she had to make him say the phrase "I am so hungry!" in a conversation but she completely failed at that, lol. "So suppose there's this delicious food in front of you, what would you say?" Keita:"Alright!". She tried that several times but he just said different things, so she gestured being hungry by clutching her stomach and asked him to say out loud what she was likely saying, lol. Kind of cheating, but he got it right. At some point she failed the challenges but was allowed to get an extra chance if she asked cutely. She did, which activated "Super Chii Time" or whatever it was called. Chii was doing gestures like skipping and spinning around and Keita had to guess her actions from the gestures...but since it was her 2nd super special extra chance at it after asking nicely he was now allowed to just look up at the screen and see the answer from time to time, lol. Basically, it was rigged so there was no chance she'd lose.
She sang like...3 songs (?) I believe and at the end she said she picked songs that were cute, since last year she mostly did cool ones and she wants to do them now she's still able to pull them off at this point, as her face might not keep up and it would not suit her anymore. The audience went like "No, no, no, no, you'll be fine, don't worry."Keita also commented that everyone would like to see her cute songs and it didn't matter even if she got to the age of 28. (true enough, Sayu can still pull it off effortlessly)
At the end we waved goodbye to her and I told her "Happy Birthday!" in English. Fun times, hope to see her again soon. Actually will see her again soon since I have a 2shot cheki with her this weekend. She's the first person I ever took a cheki with and that was like 2 years ago so it's been a while...still pondering if I should do the same pose. Have been seeing her a lot as of late because of the Morning release events, CG Valentine event, her BD and now the cheki/kobetsu handshakes. Will take a long time after that but I'm guessing that after that it'll be Juice's turn again (been aaaaages) and I can see Akari again after a loooong time, as well as Yanamin who I've had more times to leave an impression on due to her BD and Valentine's. And oh, I bought Chii's microfiber towel which is the first time I've bought one ever.
