No idea.

What I do know, is that SKE48 is not shown much on TV compared to the other 48G's:

2014年7月のテレビ出演時間ランキング[アイドル]

And down to #8 with #3 having sold 1,976 copies. If there was a delay in shipping for SKE48 I think it should've been accounted for by now...

You think it has something to do with overseas sales, since all the stuff of Oricon not counting it anymore?

I would be very surprised if overseas sales count that much. And also, did Oricon ever count it in the first place? As far as I know, they did not. It was merely outlets like CDJapan etc. that reported that they did, or so they thought.

I don't know how many fans there are in total for the 48G's abroad, but there's got to be some; just consider the super dedicated fans that have bought CD's for the elections. I know of at least a handful of Chinese fans from the Internet (which Sasshii have even mentioned) that purchased thousands of singles to vote for her.

All in all it surely adds up to something, but just how much? And for which group?

hmm .. I thought they do count it .. well I am talking about CDJapan or HMV Japan .. those are the 2 most common overseas outlet .. which suppose to count ..
anyway .. nowadays many use proxy service .. as you can consolidate your order .. and also for orders with event participation (handshake, 2shot, etc) you need to use the proxy as they don't spend direct and you need your name on the ticket ..
For proxy .. they wouldn't know its overseas ..

From my experience when I first started there was YesAsia and PlayAsia .. YesAsia state that it is counted I am not sure about now .. but PlayAsia is not .. its always been so ..

was there a new rule that it would count even on CDJapan and HMV ..? well its just hard to believe that they would exclude oversea sales because it would be more troublesome ..
i just think that when they say oversea sales does not count ..it means like HMV in my country do not count as they do bring in the Japan version stuff in the shops here .. those surely don't count ..

They don't count.

They thought their sales did count, but then they talked to Oricon, and no - they don't count. It means that if you buy 100,000 copies of the latest SKE48 single, and its total sales end up at let's say, 398,000 - then in reality it was 498,000. But since Oricon doesn't count online purchases from foreign customers in Japanese stores like HMV, CDJapan, etc. purchases by customers with non-Japanese addresses will not count in Oricon's sales figure system. (CDJapan, which is the English storefront of Neowing contacted Oricon in order to find out about this issue since some customers asked, and they replied back in email to those who had asked and I believe their answer is on their site too).

Of course, our purchases do count for the groups themselves, this much is clear. And in the cases where there's a voting ticket, or handshake ticket, etc. these things count as well. But our purchases do not help in terms of sales figures and chart placement.

edit:
reasoning and logic aside ..
http://www.cdjapan.c.../product/oricon
that's where they say it don't count ..
I can reason on that statement .. but I do not have the language ability to research on Oricon ..
there is a different in the statement "products that are sent overseas"
because .. there is the issue of point of sales ..
is it "sent overseas for sale" or "sent over after sale" ..
because Oricon set rules for a lot of stores .. it seem like a general rule for everyone to prevent sales to overseas vendors to be counted ..

But I think I should not think too much on it and accept whats obvious to me ..
I will take it that it don't count and I would use proxy in future .. guess its too late to cancel my SUPER GiRLS order as its on transit status but anyway its cheaper and we don't have to pay their consumption tax.. :P

Anyway .. for those Asian countries like China, Hong Kong, Taiwan who are near Japan .. they use proxy or a Japanese friend or private seller as they can go for those events because it cheap and easy to go to those events thats why they can buy into the thousands because they can get full benefit ..
So unless purchase from us are huge .. I doubt we would even make 1K difference .. so its like 398K or 399K .. if it makes us feel better ..

Overall.. It's funny..
At a time or most of the time..
People try to prove that 48G don't sell so much.. when in fact they actually sold more..

I am beginning to think its a budget issue .. they are short during that time ..
or they didn't really thought about the SKE48 request hour ..

It seem they are beginning to ask the members what song they want them to vote ..
so they are now finally responding to it .. i guess .. maybe?

Comparing the sales from the last single, it seems there was a 70,000 or so dip this time around on the first week. It may not seem like it, but the sales are generally still in the ballpark for where they've been lately.

Although...a downward trend is taking place on top of that too.

Maybe some fans aren't buying as much merchandise because they've grown complacent with how much they care to spend on the group anymore. Something like a person growing more casual after a serious phase when first getting into the group, and thus not as anxious or excited to buy so much?

well .. I didn't get it because they drop Mizuho ..
I know not many fans are like me .. but ..maybe not ..

I can put a good stop because I am a foreign fan .. i don't get to see them and talk to them as I don't understand Japanese ..
but for the Japanese fans who see them and talk to them and have a "relationship" with them it's hard for them to stop ..

Looking at the senbatsu .. if you are a hardcore SKE48 fan ..would you have like it?
I guess this is the first single from the AKB48 sister groups with the aftermath of the big shuffle ..
NMB48 single turned into an album ..
People ain't use to it and SKE48 fans tend to be more hardcore than the rest of the 48G fans ..

But they still got to vote for SKE48 request hour and they want the photo bonus inside and also they want to meet their SKE48 idols ..
So it would be a good move to lessen their theater order .. and let it drop to show their displeasure and come back later to top up on the single ..
by experience .. it's not going to be sold out after 1st week .. and furthermore .. there is no NMB48 single or HKT48 single nearby to contend with ..

maybe? .. LOL
