hmm .. today I was having an conversation with my fan who is a hardcore SKE48 fan ..
I was telling him about how poor the SKE48 sales was on first week but the next 2 week sales was amazing ..
He told me its because they send out the theater version is separate batches and the last two week they have been sending it out ..
He says he dunno why they change the policy and instead been sending out by batches according to handshake .. but he told me Avex announce it ..
As usual .. I am not the type who will just take the news as it is and ask him to show me the source of the news ..
but after surfing on the PC for some time .. he could not find the news ..
the only news are the later order batches, their order cut-off dates and the delivery dates but these are for later orders and not preorders ..
My friend is pretty good with his Japanese .. lets just say he read Japanese novel for fun .. :P
So I don't really doubt him since he is never the type that throw fake/false info but he does make mistake before ..

So I am not sure but I do feel that it is not possible that they allow Avex to delay some orders and pull down their sales ..
but its probable as mu-mo ain't the best online shop in term of distribution as they do have stories of screw up with some iDOL Street stuff from friend I know ..
But then again .. SKE48 just need a no.1 on week one and they got it easily anyway .. so there may not be anything wrong to send out later handshake dates batches on a later date ..

In all .. anyone heard anything on that? ... but in any case .. we can consider this a rumor but a possible reason for their poorer 1st week and good constant subsequent 2 weeks .. :)

I don't know anything about this but as far as I know, sales figures and positions are important. This is why Oricon and media writes about records all the time, because let's say SKE48 sells 1M in one day, this would then be a big, big record, and they would get so much media attention it would be amazing. Now compare this with SKE48 selling 1M but the sales spread out over one year, even more than one year... Yes, that's still 1M total sold, but it's a completely different story. They will get some media attention at the end for having sold that much, but it wouldn't even begin to compare if they pulled out the knock-out punch at the beginning.

So what I'm saying is, that a distributor like mu-mo which is under Avex, really ought to know what it is doing, and be prepared for these things, because it looks poorly upon SKE48 to not sell like it should in the first week.
