Not really. It's opposite: first day and every other day except one (which helps to give a good all around figure), have decreasing sales compared to 1st album. But it's still good sales though of course.

Today's sales: 5,627, and still #1. Total of 318,034 so far.

hmm... is it because of the daisokaku?

I really wonder about that since SKE also has a declining sales...

Maybe.

That certainly wasn't a popular decision. Though I don't see why people should abandon the groups solely because they got shuffled a little. The girls are still there, so are you a fan of them or not?

At any rate, there's been an overall decline for AKB48 too, before this shuffle, so I just think it's a case of the novelty effect wearing off and the growth period reaching stagnation, and the inevitable drop in interest from primarily a mainstream audience, takes place. This doesn't mean nobody cares about them anymore and that it's all over and that they are going to fall down any moment now, as they're still all super popular, and still have a lot of things that they present all the time (all of the groups). It's just that the freshness is not there as it was a couple of years ago.

So this continuous growth that we've seen with the various groups, especially AKB48, will hit a roof at one point or another.

The second album sells more than I’ve expected, in spite of sudden change of the release format from a single to an album, and what is more, that’s two year continual release of albums. As for the initial week, the album sold more than the initial of SKE’s last single.

Among the team songs in this album, I’m pleased with BII’s Kimini Yarareta (Knocked Out By You). It reminds me of Puffy AmiYumi style songs, a mixture of 60’s rocks and Japanese pops with their characteristic relaxed easy-going feelings.  It’s well known they’ve succeeded in the United States. They were even cartoonized, although we Japanese generally haven’t considered them as idols. BTW, if there's some foreign director intends to turn Japanese idols into an animation now, I think BABYMETAL are suitable. Related to them, Tanigawa Airi (Team M) proved recently to be a very old friend (for longer period than her NMB activity) of Muto Ayami (a fellow and a rival of SU-METAL).
