Galaxy Express 999 ranked 18th on Day 1 of Oricon singles chart.

This is their highest placement yet.

 

I bought the B-side songs on Japanese iTunes, they were some of their best songs. Really great stuff.

It's good that they're doing well. I wasn't too fond of the title track, but I'm glad others are liking it well enough.

I follow their twitter but don't know Japanese. Seems like they have been doing lots of performances but not much else :/

Cupitron performed "THE LAST LIVE" on 4/30.

At this event they announced the end of operations as "Cupitron" after 4 years.

 

They said the three would be continuing as a new group name which has many to theorize it is simply a rebranding with a new music sound.

They will begin taking suggestions for their new group name on the Cupitron website soon.

Its sad but at least they are not actually breaking up, just going to restart under a new name. They apparently already have a new song in the making.

 

Still one of the things that drew me to them was their techno / electronic theme so I just wonder how much they will change after the rebranding is said and done...

wew.....i didnt know there was a Cupitron thread in this forum ^^

 

anw, actually Cupitron is my first "indie" idol group, since i quit hearing AKB48 in 2016, i instantly falls for them because the single Galaxy Express 999, its one of my oldest fave anime (aside from Yamato)

since then i followed the group and Nichika on the twitter, and she is kind enough to reply some of my tweets 

 

even now i "venture" to other idols, but i still listen to them once in a while, i hope that the rebranding plan go smoothly, i just dont want them to break-up.......
