I hate the idea of the members being told to "work hard" for the pennant race. 

 

I'm hoping something positive comes from this.

AKB seems to be winning, Ahh... this competition with fair conditions for everyone.

 

Total performances until 5/31. I just copied these numbers from a comment and it didn't include HKT Have not checked if these numbers are accurate either.

 

A-9回、K--5回、B-8回、4-12回 
S-5回、K2-4回、E-5回 
N-2回、M-3回、b2-3回 

 

Each group have a different frequenzy of stage performances yet this seems to not be considered in any way. Funny if SKE, NMB and HKT wanted to take on the competition and amp up the numbers of stages each month but then they realize that AKB always got 2 or 3 events for various singles/album going all the time. Events that will effectively block them from more time in their theaters. Of course, sister groups got events on their own too... nothing that will keep AKB from standing on the stage though.

 

It isn't possible to compare all the teams like this if the competition was AKB favoured to begin with and if each group have different schedules. At least one thing will be interesting to follow and that is the internal struggle of each group,  HKT (Team H vs Team KIV), NMB (Team N vs Team M vs Team B2) etc... That is the only fair game in this competition... if not... oh crap concurrencies... oh well... the internal struggle is what will keep me interested anyways.

That few theater performances for the sister groups? Wow. I'm also waiting for them to update based on theater performances that have happened for sister groups. Seems they've only taken AKB into account for theater performances so far.

I was thinking of going to the HKT theater to check them out during Golden Week, but it turns out HKT has no performances until Golden Week is over.

Team A or 4 will win in the end because they have the most members of all teams. Team 4 has the most performances of all teams and Team A got their concurrencies.

I wonder how long they will keep this farce going. Until Team A/4 got 4 times Team S' points? 6 times?

 

AKB management should be in the pennant race, not the members. They are the ones who can do something about it.

I don't think this thing will create a team spirit or more support for the teams but instead create negative sentiments toward management or even AKB.

I'm assuming they're going to even out the stages more than they usually do for this.  K hasn't even performed (the first one will count as 0 too) and they changed two of their performances this weekend to team 4.  lol

Wow. Team H in the lead was kind of surprising. For me at least. A good surprise, though 

 

Still haven't managed to wrap my head around this race, but I'll admit that if Hakata wins, I'm all for it.

A bit petty of me, perhaps, but I'll manage...

It's rough for sister groups since their main girls are all giving akb teams concurrency points.  H gets to keep sasshi all to themselves though

Team 4 doing very well, and it seems the Mariri-factor have added to their popularity, as shown above, thus they get extra points for that.

It's sad seeing Team S so close to the bottom D:

It is, and we've had a few discussions on this "race" before, and I think - as do Japanese fans - that we shouldn't be too depressed over bottom ranking teams etc. as really this doesn't reflect the actual situation.

 

They all work hard for themselves, for the team, and for the group, and all of them put on fun shows, so... It is an annoying situation, but what can we do? Anyways, like with the Mariri example above and Team 4, obviously we can see when something good happens and that's fun of course.

Team M will be chasing a Guinness World Record because they're at the bottom. So while the whole pennant race is a sham, it's great that in a way it's inspiring really cool things that otherwise may not have happened.

It was a stupid idea that was too complicated, and also attempted to do something which is futile; finding out which is the "best" team, when everybody knows that's hard to do since they don't have an even basis to start with...

After the nasty shuffle it was pointless anyway, hardly anyone still cares for the team constructs really. I hardly know who is in which team these days.

At least they posted an apology and didn't just abandoned it silently.
