Because this race thing is so confusing, too much rules and I don't get the point of having this event

It was supposed to decide the picking order in the next draft, but I don't think that's coming back either lol

but honestly .. how is the picking order important when they draw lots when they pick the same person in the same round ..
unless they were intending to change that ..

I mean, they never said anything official about how both things were related, but they announced the pennant race the night before the draft, so I guess they both are (they're both baseball terms and so on).

 

And since the draft consists of the teams picking girls... the only thing that could change was the order lol

 

Maybe if a girl was picked by more than 1 team it could go to the "worse" one in the pennant race? They're in more need of help, so it would make sense.

It was a waste of time doing this when they could have been spending their time focusing on things that everyone else actually cared about like NEW STAGEESSS~

To be fair, penant race or not, that has very little to do with how quick or how slow Akimoto manages to get us new stages. Basically it's just statistics about teams and performances.

I really thought forming a sports league where points scored by one player counting for two teams while automatically disqualifying all potential points scored outside of a certain venue was a great idea, but doing that AND setting the standings by accumulative points scored and allowing two teams to play twice as many games as everyone else seemed absolutely genius. It's stunning to me that those ideas turn out to completely destroy any sense of competitive balance and that it ultimately only succeeds in promoting mass confusion!

Honest..  I agree with almost everything.. lol

Anyway .. I feel that they should do a ranking chart..  not for the teams .. But for individual members.. 

They should use data that the fans could make a difference.. 

Like handshake lots sales, individual shop item sales..  then it would matter to us and we can make a difference.. even if it's going to bankrupt us.. lol

I am confused from the start and never followed it.

The management seems been throwing lots of things to the wall and try to see what got stuck (the draft, pennant race. new stages)

A handful of years ago I believe it was Akimoto that answered a fan Q&A that he doesn't have a fixed list of ideas or a plan with regards to AKB48. He basically goes with the flow, him and staff. If they find something to be interesting, they go with it. They do it because it's fun, and because they like it. So oftentimes a lot of it is spontaneous. And I guess that is why some things are poorly thought through, and gets mixed reviews, whereas other things are viewed as the work of a genius. At the end of the day, I'd say we've gotten more good things than bad through this kind of method, which is always a plus...
