SKE48 with 16,544 sold, total of 430,434 so far. NMB48 behind with 46,276 copies.

That's a bit misleading, IMHO. We only should compare first week sales... not accumulated total sales, else SKE48 is clearly in advance because their single is longer available already.

Well, NMB48 will likely beat SKE48's weekly figures as well. But it's of course better to beat the total too, considering that there's a huge drop-off in sales after the two first weeks (and of course after the first month there's not much to get). Thus, beating them in total sales places them above SKE48 in the yearly chart, and of course that's very nice.

So far NMB is doing better than SKE's and HKT's recent singles.

 

NMB's 1st - 3rd day sales made a total of 391,121.

SKE's 1st - 3rd day sales made a total of 370,753.

HKT's 1st - 3rd day sales made a total of 255,808

 

NMB are ahead of SKE's 3rd day total by 20,368 and HKT's by 135,313.

 

Weekly sales~ 

SKE's - #1 with 397,874 sales

HKT's - #1 with 277,000 sales

 

NMB have already beat HKT's sales by 114,121 and only need 6,753 more sales to beat SKE's first week. Going with that I'd say NMB are doing just fine.

That they'd beat HKT48 wasn't really something I'd say anybody would be surprised by. HKT48 is the new group and as such they're not established compared to the others. HKT48 have done very well so far with each single selling more than the previous. The really big surprise here is that NMB48 for the first time have beat SKE48 in 1st day sales and can do so in the 1st week sales as well as the total, if everything goes well

I have a fought... Maybe SKE wanted to get two #1 weeks in by having fewer sales during the first week, so that NMB end up having a #2 first week.. It's unlikely but it could be the case. Thoughts?

Utsukushii Inazuma had a similar pattern with 94,000 sold the second week, biggest difference is that it sold 510,000 first week. Realistically, I think that they aim for another nice second week instead of two consecutive No.1.

After the shuffle of the groups and all the butthurt that followed... All I wanted for this realese was signs of NMB stability and I got it.

Second best first week selling single? ^.^

I finally got my singles today and as I opened Type A, I was really caught off guard to see 門脇 written on the back of the card. Huh?? How is that even possible? As it turns out, the card lineups must've been expanded to include Shiro/Aka/Teppoutai! More girls, more cards how cool is that?

 

So I wound up with a Kanakichi card from a cd for the first time, when I wasn't even expecting there to be one. I also got Kawakami Rena and Akazawa Hono, which is infinitely more exciting than another Sayaka or Nana card (with no offense to them of course).

Oh .. they included non senbatsu member in their card bonus ..
that may slightly be part of the reason for their better sales ..
lol .. I haven't got a NMB48 single since Bokura no Eureka .. so I take it as the change is recent?

This is the first single they've done this as I can tell, unless they did in Kamonegics and I never saw or heard of any others. The only non-senbatsu card I believe they've had before this was theater manager Kaneko for Bokura no Eureka.

Takaneno Ringo is pretty good and timely. 

 

The verse has chord progression characterized by sub-dominant minor chord with tonic pedal point, which can be heard in many classical overtures and arias like famous Nessun dorma.

That’s why it makes us feel, with a kind of magnificence, the beginning of something. The falls of string instruments are cool here.

 

The lyrics are in the same line. Akimoto recommends us to set our targets high and perhaps encourages girls facing with new starting team system. Needless to say, the video seems inspired by Spielberg’s Close Encounters.

 

Ota Yuri was picked out for the center position next to Miru Shiroma in the coupling Yamae Yukou (Let’s go to the mountain) . By watching the video, I came to think she's a little genius in character acting.

Very smooth theatrical elocution, expressive face which changes every moment,  with well-rolling eyeballs… I think her performance is beyond what a 14 y/o girl with no acting experience could generally do.  She looks like a somewhat trained child actress.

 

Yuri used to say she’s a bad dancer and has impassive poker face. Frankly speaking, that was true at the beginning of team BII. But in these days, she shows big growth in dance performance and now begins to prove her talent.

hmm .. finally got round listening to the songs except the theater version from all the 48G in the last round of single release ..
This single seem to have the nicest coupling songs this round to me ..

Anyway .. with all the sales talk .. we kind of forgot that this single has the request hour voting on it ..
nah .. probability voting for the song that represent your idol in a ranking ain't important .. LOL
