(l to r) Taguchi Miiro, Iseki Ami, Murayama Sara, Otani Emiri, Arakawa Yuuna, Ishikawa Natsumi, Kera Hinako, Yokoyama Rina, Miyatani Yue, Miyako Kaori, Funaki Saori, Hayashi Rena

Akishibu Project, formed by Rinahamu, is a group that aims to connect male-focused Akihabara culture with female-focused Shibuya culture.

A few of the girls are gyaru models while others dance online and things like that.

Currently they have no releases, but they're most likely working on that.

Their home page is here: http://akishibup.net/index.html

Their Ustream is here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/akishibu

Their Wikipedia page is here (for anyone who may have a go at translation): http://ja.wikipedia....iki/アキシブproject

--------

This is kind of a quick setup, and I'll probably put up member information soon. I wanted to have a topic made since I'm falling in love with this group despite not having much if any videos to go on.

I began digging into my favorite ex-member of BiS, Rinahamu, and discovered this group of girls. I really hope they can make a name for themselves as time goes on.

--------

This video, from my VERY basic knowledge, is of Rinahamu discussing how the first year of Akishibu Project was a huge failure, but that they're fighting to keep going and have a lot of events planned for this year.

Based on what I'm hearing about this group, I feel like they would do really well with a TV show. It could be half the girls trying to learn about Akiba culture by working at maid cafes, attending anime conventions, studying/being quizzed on manga, etc. and the other half them trying to teach about Shibuya culture by making over otaku, teaching gyaru make up/style techniques, para para dancing, etc.

It's a really interesting concept for a group but I wish they'd do more with it. :(

Report in English on their sold out January solo concert here. Seems that they'll finally be releasing a CD!

You can see some of the performances from that night on their YouTube channel.

Even without Rinahamu, I think they're a really good group. Noticed Yue first but Kera and Ishikawa are great too.

Akishibu Project Performs in the Philippines for the two-day event of Cool Japan. Here is the video of Eternal Blue

And, some MC. Both not mine!

Miyatani Yue was awesome to watch in the event. She was always smiling even when the others look gloomy.

The management should file a case against this prejudicial portrayal of Akishibu. <_<

Definitely feel bad for them being deceived by Vice but those guys are all over the place. I thought the thing they did on Negicco was pretty good. Then again, a bulk of their viewers are cynical hipsters so there you go.

Japanese groups need to be wary of foreign media sometimes because they almost always seem to have an ulterior motive.

Then again, some people might end up becoming fans because they wanted to see more from the video?

Yue's great but I wish she would change it up and stop wearing the contacts that make her look kind of scary.

I like the MV, but it seems pretty plain. I was expecting it to be more colorful and with scenes in Akihabara/Shibuya based on what the mini album cover looked like.

Someone was nice enough to save and upload their Line Live from last week to YouTube!

Also, new song with lyrics written for Mirinya (Otani).
