X21 is an idol group formed by Oscar Promotion (Ayame Goriki, Emi Takei). After doing auditions for it in 2012 (allegedly with over 10.000 candidates), the twenty-one members were presented on an event on January 28th (2013). “The 'X' in the group's name is supposed to symbolize the unknown and unpredictable potential of this next-generation girls' unit” or so the promotion goes.
The members are (on the picture above, going from above to below, left to right): Wakayama Ayano, Nishikawa Misaki, Sagawa Miyu, Hosoi Yurika, Yamasaki Saaya, Sera Misaki, Ohnishi Aguri, Takahashi Luna, Matsuda Rina, Nagao Mami, Igashira Manami, Osaki Ichika, Tanaka Shuri, Yamaki Koharu, Izumikawa Miho, Shiratori Hasumi, Ozawa Nanaka, Yoshimoto Miyu, Suenaga Mai, Kaminaguchi Honoka and Komoriya Sakura.



They have their own TV show on TV Asahi “GO!オスカル!X21”, have been doing live events and they also participated in Tokyo Idol Festival 2013. Websites, main blog, Wikipedia:

It was announced today (in Japan) that the group (a fourteen-member selection) is going to release their debut single “Asu He No Sotsugyou” on 03/19 on Avex Trax.

I like how their concept is sort of "unknown", makes the group more interesting to me I look forward to see what kind of group this is going to be!

 

And do anyone know why only 14 of their 21 members participate in the debut single? Seems like a waste of members to me >< Would be sad not to be included in the debut single, if I was in a group I mean!

 

Oh and these girls are really from many different parts of Japan! And even Australia too it seems

Also i really like the way Osaki Ichika's talks... I wonder if thats the native kochi prefecture accent or if she is just unique.

I like the group, but their song is not that original in terms of that "sound". But I hope to see more of them with a new concept as opposed to blending in with the "other" idols groups that are out!

To be fair, I think that their debut single really mirrors "Sakura no Hanabiratachi", maybe not in terms of sound or songwriting but in what they are trying to do or achieve...
