I found out very late that there were actually very good extras for Tsugi no Ashioto type A (First Press) in other stores around Japan through browsing Rakuten, and that CDJapan/Neowing and YesAsia didn't even get anything like that (all the former got was a B2 poster, while the latter got nothing). HMV's had the good extras if I recall, but the preorders were all sold out for it (kinda expected given the date right now).

 

I managed to find a store that had them and ordered through the Rakuten system, but I'm unsure as to whether I'll be getting them with the extras at all.

 

So as usual, hope against hope, and weep that you don't live in Japan and come across these things without the proxy buying and posting services and all that crap.

I've only heard Type A, but this album is amazing. For the past 2 years or so (especially this last year) I've been disappointed in just about everything AKB has released musically, so my interest in them has been declining significantly. When I heard there was another album being released, I thought "great, another bland album with boring songs" and pretty much dismissed the album until I heard my boyfriend previewing the album after downloading it. He was listening to "Tsuyoi Hana" and I was intrigued, a sweet dreamy song in 3/4 time, I couldn't believe it was from the new AKB album so I downloaded the album myself.

 

This album has restored my hope in AKB, even if it's only one album, it's proved to me that AKB can still release great songs. I highly recommend this album, I can't wait to hear type b!

So far, there's a lot of good songs, but there are 3 gems that stand out to me the most.

 

1. Tsuyoi Hana

2. Shower no Ato Dakara

3. 10 Krone to Pan

 

I suggest everyone listen to these songs! They are refreshing and a different sound from most AKB releases.

 

Solid album, I'd say it's 7/10.

 

Update: I just listened to type b, it's not as good as type a but Tanin Gyougi na Sunset Beach and Douki are very good! Being a Paruru solo makes it even better to me I would put Ichi ni no san as another good one off this type, but the chorus gets annoying/repetitive near the end of the song, it's lacking compared to the rest of the song in my opinion. Since I was disappointed with type b, I slightly lowered my rating, not like it makes a difference since I doubt anyone read my lame "review" lol!

Was really keen to see how much this would sell, great numbers!

 

I do think it's a bit of a cheap tactic having what is essentially 2 albums and releasing it as one though. Of course I still think sales would have been amazing if it was released like 1830m was, but I'm curious over how sales would have been if it was. Hoping we get to see the sales of each version at some point

We'll know the sales of each version next week or so. There's a page that tracks that. A majority of them are going to be theater versions, but that's nothing new.

What an EXCELLENT album! I'm very pleased :3 JJ is my fav, since it has some Mocchi solos.

 

And I take back anything negative I ever said about Paruru. Seriously. Her solo showed me a whole new side! Her voice is SOOOO good! I never knew she had such potential. I used to think she was boring and squeaky, but I'm very proud of how far she's come.
