AKB48 Draft: Became primary nomination pick of SKE48's Team KII, Team E, and NMB48's Team N. Lottery draft ended with Yamamoto Sayaka getting the rights to pick her, thus becoming eligible to join Team N. Yamamoto Sayaka stated afterwards that Sutou Ririka was very impressive, and had a strong character.

She's got good tastes in manga, is intelligent, pretty and likes a member I like, who was one of the people that decided to add her into their team.

 

Still, team N really got lucky getting her, as she was the only girl team N was after. Yamamoto has some serious luck.

 

I hope she manages to do well in team N.

Yeah this girl is super interesting based on virtually everything such as looks, voice, things she says, stage presence, interests, and so on. And that Team N picked her makes it even more interesting. Of course, if she was picked by Team B for example, that wouldn't have been bad, but I feel as if such a girl like this would be far more visible in NMB48, and now she's going to one of the stronger teams in the entire 48 group family. I am quite sure she'll get great training and backup from the other girls, which makes this very exciting. The only drawback is the distance from Tokyo to Osaka, though I assume she'll get a flat or some such in Osaka to stay at. Then there's the whole university thing, though I assume here too that there's universities in Osaka that might fit her, if she wants to study.

She can always delay studying if she can't focus on it, but she seems like the type that could do both at the same time. She's also close to turning 17, a reasonable age for living on one's own. Also, Kyoto University is close by if she can manage to pass the ridiculously hard entrance exam, but universities around Osaka are pretty good too, from what I've heard. Philosophy is more about reading about and interpreting ideas and ideologies, theories and such from ages past, so it's less taxing physically.

 

Anyway, I just hope her determination carries through. I wouldn't want to see a girl with so much appeal and potential just quit all of a sudden.

Concerning everyday study and entering university, Kouno Saki (BII) could be a good consultant for Sutou.

Saki was a student of one of top 30 elite high schools in this country. And she’s now living at the NMB dormitory.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed til the day when we get to hear if the girls have said yes or no to their respective teams. The possibility of Sutou Ririka in Team N excites me quite a lot

I'm sure they'll all want to get into their respective teams, as that's what they spent 1 and a half months of grueling, intense training for. If they had any second thoughts regarding the matter, they would have already quit before the actual draft process.

A lot of times it's hard for people to quit something once they've started and it only gets more difficult the more work they put into it.  Only when they reach their goal and have time to reflect do they realize it isn't really what they wanted after all.  Buuut, I wouldn't worry about Sutou.  She was fought for in round 1 by 3 teams.  It's pretty hard to turn down team N and Sayanee as their only draftee.

By that same logic, it would be hard for them to quit after getting drafted too, because they already put in that much effort to get picked in the first place.

 

I can see a few girls probably quitting if things don't go their way towards the end of 2014, but I don't see why they wouldn't be accepting their new-found positions, unless the people around them like their family don't want them to leave home due to insecurity (which is understandable for the Team K drafts, because they're both just 12 years old)..

Well, it's a different situation though once you have gotten drafted and know more about how being an idol will be like.  Now it's a life decision they have to make for years to come.

Kind of strange that she was just a pretty face to me throughout the draft videos, nothing special. A very pretty face I must add. At the actual event though... omg she is quite unique She is likely to give us many interesting MC parts during stages and concerts in the future.

 

She didn't get any votes from the other draftees in Kousagi Dojo during those two draft specials. To serious to make friends?

She's been really good at spotting girls with a lot of potential and often gives advice and suggestions to the various members she's in touch with (like Kondou and Oota Yuuri). She herself noted that she's got more talent as a producer, and that's what she and Takahashi Minami talked about in their Mujack one-on-one conversation.

 

Give her several more years in show business, and she might be a worthy candidate for the successor to Akimoto when he retires. She'd probably need help for lyrics and composition from Yamamoto though.

I find the notion that Akimoto will simply hand AKB down to someone just like that interesting.

If this was just a joke praising Miruki then nevermind. But I also would like to put the idea out here that AKB will be bought, not handed down to someone for some romantic idea from Akimoto.
