Actually, both her and Juri have gotten a lot of flack for what they actually said in those messages.

 

In other words, trying to normalize having Johnny's Jr. members over in their apartments, basically. Which is not appropriate behavior for an idol. In short, a lot of fans are disappointed with this. 

 

Whether it will affect the recent election one cannot say now, as many may have voted before this happened, but it can definitely cause a loss in popularity over time though.

^seriously? gosh. You would think that fans would appreciate their prompt honesty on the matter. I understand that for an idol, hanging out with boys in their homes is not a smart move, especially during election season, but this was a birthday celebration! I'll be damned if the idols i love couldn't even celebrate their birthdays the way they wanted to because wota don't want them to hang around with guys. I usually support things such as the dating ban, but a birthday celebration should be okay. 

 

i would rather know that my oshimen isn't dating, but hangs around with male friends openly, than find out that my perfectly innocent idol has been caught dating, and then lies about it. clearly japanese fans don't share that same view. different strokes i guess.

"Male friends" though, is not the same as "Male friends being Johnny's Jr. males", especially since in 99% of the cases where a Johnny's Jr. male is close with a female idol, it is because they're their boyfriends. Fans would be more fine with it if it was regular anonymous males, instead of Johnny's Jr. members. Fans just don't like seeing those together with their idols. For obvious reasons.

Why they take pictures in these situation is the biggest mystery to me... they could avoid all of this by just not taking freaking pictures and probably sharing them on (private or not) social medias
