It's been a while.

I don't know if anybody remembers me but I used to be Muukau here.

Lost my account (can't remember my password for damn sake) so made a new one.

It's mostly gonna be one-shots with random pairings, unless I feel like making them into series. lol

Came up with this fic just because I like Tomoko's voice.

Ironically, I don't really know much about J=J XD

WRONG NUMBER

Three girls with school uniforms are walking back home on this big street. They don’t seem to be in a big hurry though, they’re laughing and chatting and walking as slow as possible. As they approach a small side road they stop walking, and chat some more until one of them finally decides to enter the side road. The two girls wave good bye and go on their way too.

The girl walking down the small side road seems bored. So she takes out her cell phone from her bag and texts her friends. Oh, school girls. Then suddenly, her phone rang.

She picks it up and the first word she hears is—“Yuka?”

“eh?”

Unfortunately, the girl’s name is not Yuka.

“Yuka, I’ve sent you the documents you needed.”

“Umm…”

And she has no idea what this person’s talking about but…

“Oh, sorry. I guess I got the wrong number, haha.”

“Wait! Don’t hang up just yet!” Her voice trembles a bit. “I really like your voice!”

Well, that was straightforward.

“Uh, OK.”

Then there was a 3 seconds of silence.

The girl’s thinking of something good to say. Seems like she’s having a little bit of trouble though. Hopefully she learnt her lesson, to not say things straight out of your mouth without thinking through it. The silence is getting longer and longer.

“Thank you. I like your voice too, haha.”

Surprisingly, the one who broke the silence was the one on the phone. The girl’s fidgeting with her hands, still trying to figure out something good to say, yet failing miserably due to her lack of skills in thinking with her feet. It's almost like, the one on the phone could kind of hear the attempts at the girl thinking hard.

Then the one on the phone apologized again so she could hang up already, clearly. But once again the girl stops her.

“Wait, um. My name is Uemura Akari!” Ooh, self-introduction. Nice start.

“I, I see. My name is Kanazawa Tomoko,” said she, a little disappointed that she couldn’t hang up but still trying to be nice.

“You can call me Aarii. That’s what my friends call me.”

“Haha, OK.” Let me hang up already!! You can totally hear that from her tone.

“Ka.Na.Za.Wa. Tomoko. I saved your number. Can I call you next time to hear your voice? I really like your voice.”

“Uh, sure? I guess.”

“Can I call you Kanatomo? Just Tomo?”

“Anything would be fine,” sounds like she wants to get this over quick. “I’m a little busy right now. I was trying to call my colleague's new number for business matters but it seems that she sent me a wrong number. I’m sorry.”

“No, no worries. So I’ll probably call you tonight.”

“Hahahaha, OK. Bye.”

And there ended the conversation.

But little did she know that the girl would actually call her that night.

This is part of the NOT YOU trilogy:

NOT YOU but your friend

NOT YOU but your sister

NOT YOU but your mom

This one probably has the most decent and normal pairing out of the three. lol

NOT YOU but your friend

Miyabi is having a tantrum on her bed right now. No matter how nicely she rejected to meet up with Momoko, she refuses to take ‘no’ as an answer. Fed up with this situation, Miyabi called Momoko at once. Clearly, texting won’t solve anything.

The phone rang exactly three times before Momoko picked up.

“Hello? Miya?”

“Yeah, I called to say that I won’t be able to meet up with you tomorrow. I’m really busy with homework.”

“Oh,” said Momoko with a down tone. “I understand.”

“Right. Sorry.”

“Wait!” As Miyabi was about to hang up, Momoko yelled. “Rii-chan and I are gonna meet up on Saturday though. We should chill.”

“Yeah! Sure! By then I’m sure I’ll be done with all my homework!”

Sounds exciting, doesn’t it. Miyabi’s voice changed at once as she heard the name Rii-chan. She’s been crushing on her ever since they met through Momoko. Without a doubt, Momoko knows about Miyabi’s little crush on Risako. Who wouldn’t? Miyabi’s so obvious, but why is Momoko being so difficult? Haha.

Ah, the youth.

*

The time passed by fast and Saturday came. Three girls are hanging out in a café with sweets on their table. However, the one sitting across from the two looks a little troubled. The short one with twin tail hair seems to be the only one talking. And the third one is dead quiet, only digging in her parfait.

“So, um, Risako-chan, I still don’t have your phone number yet.”

“It’s—“

“It’s xxx-xxxx,” Momoko interrupted.

“Oh, thanks. I’ll save it right now,” said Miyabi, with a dry tone directed at Momoko. Then she faced Risako with an aho smile. “Uh, so Risako-chan, how’re you handling your homework? I always have a hard time with mine.”

“I—“

“Ha, unlike you, she’s a good student.  She always comes over to my house and does homework with me so she doesn’t have any trouble with her school work.”

“Ah, I see.”

For a while the conversation pattern went like this: Miyabi asks a question to Risako. Risako attempts to answer, but Momoko always intercepts. Even though Miyabi and Risako were in the same place together, they never talked directly to each other. Momoko made that impossible.

Thankfully, Momoko went to washroom for a bit. This is the chance. This is the chance to talk to her as much as she can.

“Natsuyaki-san,” Risako called out.

Risako’s soothing voice surprised Miyabi. She didn’t expect her to start the conversation. Throughout the whole time they were in this café, Risako was so concentrated on eating and eating only. Miyabi could feel her jaw open up.

“Can I call you Miya too? And just call me Rii. We’re not strangers anymore and yet we call each other with some distance. I don’t like that.”

“Thanks to someone,” said Miyabi.

“I want to hang out with you more too.”

Thump. Thump.

“You’re really fun to be around.”

Tha-dump. Thump. Thump.

“And you, me,” said Risako, “and Momo, we three can be BFFs!”

No. No. No no no no no. No. NO!!

Momoko came back and couple hours passed just like that and the girls had to go home. Sun was down, and so was Miyabi’s feelings. She didn’t really get to talk to Risako today. And when she did, only got disappointed. What’s worse is that they even head home in the same direction too. She’s the only one taking a different bus. Why oh why.

Youth is so complicated. It’s just so, complicated.

I got inspired by Honey and Clover so I wanted to make a music version of it.

To Ikuta Erina, cello was her life. She started playing ever since she was born and she was good at it too. She liked the applause and compliments she got whenever she played. It felt good. However, she never really knew, or even thought about why she, herself, played cello. She didn’t have any goals in her life.

What happened in her life was very linear: started playing cello at 4, only knew how to play cello by 18. That was the only reason why she chose to go to an arts university. She never had much of a choice. Nevertheless, it didn’t bother her though. All she cared for was to graduate and teach at a music school or something, and then start her own music school when she had enough money. Just to live a boring life everyone does. That was her only way through life anyways.

Hello! Chamber Orchestra

Ch.1

A year passed by just like that, and Erina’s helping her next room housemate, Fukumura Mizuki, to unpack all the food her parents sent her as usual. She could’ve gotten her deliverer’s to unpack it for them but she was already embarrassed of having them in this small one room building where only students of Hello University reside.

Erina always wondered what kind of family Mizuki came from. As the months went by the amount of food became incredible each time. It was to the point where the two of them couldn’t finish all by a week, so they had to get some help (or more like give help, but Mizuki won’t know that) from their seniors upstairs. The seniors were very kind to take over the food, and sometimes, too kind to take more than enough that Mizuki didn’t have much left by the end, but to conclude, they were still kind people.

The two were unpacking for about 5 minutes but there was still a lot to go. Sadly, they were all out of strength too. Their hands were wobbly from handling the packed food.

“Fuku-chan, I think we should get the senpais to help us out,” said Erina.

“I hope they won’t mind.”

“Don’t worry,” Erina smiled, apologetically, “I’m sure they won’t.”

The seniors live upstairs. There were three of them and Erina always saw them as cute animals. From tallest to shortest, bunny, turtle, and a cat. Definitely, Erina wasn’t the only person thought of them that way. Last time she had a conversation about them with Mizuki and her friend, Kanon, they thought the seniors resembled those animals too. So they called the upstairs, ‘the farm’.

When they arrived at third floor they automatically skipped room 301, and 302 and went straight to 303. That’s where the bunny senpai Michishige Sayumi lived. She was the nicest (and the creepiest) senior out of the three. Without any hesitation, Erina knocked on the door twice and opened the door. Thankfully all three of them were in there so they didn’t have to knock on the other doors.

“Oh! Eripon and Fuku-chan! Welcome, have a seat,” said Sayumi with a smile hiding something.

“No, um, I mean thank you but,” Erina stuttered, “we were wondering if you seniors can help us arrange Fuku-chan’s food. After that, we can all have dinner together.”

“Sounds great!” The cat look-alike senior Tanaka Reina yelled out. Then she took the turtle resembling senior, Kamei Eri’s hand and stood up instantly. Poor Eri stood up along with Reina. Only Sayumi was the one sitting down. “Perfect timing guys, I was getting so tired from listening to Sayu’s nonsense.”

“It’s not a nonsense!”

“Sayu,” Eri didn’t know where to put her eyes. “I like your idea but it’s just too much to do when it’s our graduating year.”

“But it’s because it’s our last year here.”

“I’m sorry to interrupt but can we get going?” Erina softly spoke up.

“Right, we’ll talk about it more while we have the dinner,” said Sayumi.

Arranging the food didn’t take long when 5 girls were on it. The girls had dinner right away, thanking Mizuki’s parents. Of course, Mizuki was a bit embarrassed by it.

“So,” Sayumi started, “you’re a cello major, right? Eripon?”

“Yes,  I, cl, am,” Erina choked on food.

Sayumi explained her grand plan to make her graduating year fantastic: to make a chamber orchestra and hold her graduation concert. The idea itself was amazing, but Eri and Reina opposed for realistic reasons. How on earth will 3 graduating students manage a chamber orchestra?

“Right, so that’s that, but you know all music students are busy. How’re you gonna get people to join?” asked Reina.

“Well Fuku-chan you told me once you used to play violin right?

“Yes, but I stopped at around junior high to concentrate on drawing.”

“I’m sure you’re still great, so I’m gonna write you down on the list along with Eriopon!”

“Wait! Michishige-senpai!”

“See Reina? I can get people to join just like that! Haha!”

The two juniors could barely have dinner that day. They were worried about how this is gonna turn out. They were already busy with homework, assignments and many more. Things were about to get really busy this year.

*

For about a week Erina saw many posters around the school hallways. The posters were all from Sayumi. It was about the audition for her orchestra. The audition date passed, so the results were probably in, she thought. But what’s with the name? Funny. Hello! Chamber Orchestra? She could already see Reina opposing heavily to that name but Sayumi still won over in the end.

The classes were oddly extra boring today. Erina couldn’t stand it. She managed herself to stay awake but it was as good as if she was asleep. Spring. That’s what it is. Erina went to school cafeteria to get herself some coffee. The three seniors were there too.

“Oh, Erina-chan, what’s up?” Reina called out first.

“I’m really sleepy today for some reason.”

“Spring it is,” Eri chuckled.

“Here, have a seat here,” Sayumi offered.

After she got her cup of coffee, she sat down beside Reina. They were talking about the chamber orchestra. Erina decided to stay quiet for the most part but she couldn’t help herself from asking questions when she heard that there were a lot of people who auditioned.

“Wait, people actually auditioned for this?”

“I know,” Reina rolled her eyes.

“Hey! What’s with the tone! Of course people will audition for my orchestra! After all, I’m cute.”

“I don't think that’s the point here.”

“Well, a lot of people auditioned but it was really easy to choose who got in,” and Sayumi showed the paper with the list of names of people who made it.

Hello! Chamber Orchestra

producer/conductor

Michishige Sayumi

producer/manager

Kamei Eri

Tanaka Reina

concertmaster

Sayashi Riho

1st violin

Ishida Ayumi, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Sugaya Risako, Tsugunaga Momoko, Suzuki Airi, Yajima Maimi, Wada Ayaka, Fukuda Kanon, Miyamoto Karin

2nd violin

Suzuki Kanon, Iikubo Haruna, Kumai Yurina, Okai Chisato, Hagiwara Mai, Miyazaki Yuka, Takagi Sayuki

viola

Satou Masaki, Kudou Haruka, Sudo Maasa, Uemura Akari

cello

Kanazawa Tomoko

bass

(we need someone!!)

piano

Tasaki Asahi

There was a pattern in this list. It was pretty easy to find it. Erina spoke her mind out.

“Wait, they’re all girls’ names.”

“That’s correct! Isn’t it exciting? An all girls chamber orchestra!”

"And that's the reason why we don't have a bass player. Two guys auditioned for it but Sayu here, was against letting them in," Reina rolled her eyes again.

Reina and Eri were shaking their heads while looking down. So she chose only girls and left the boys out. Erina looked through the list once again and realized her name was not on it and sighed out of relief.

“Oh, and don’t worry Eripon. Your name will be right under the cello section and Fuku-chan, under second violin! I only put the names of people who tried out for the audition so they know they made it. My, I can’t wait for our first meet up!”

Reina patted Erina on the back as Erina took a sip of her coffee, and sighed again out of concern. She still has one class left and today was gonna be a long day. Extremely. Long. Day.

*

Erina opened her fridge to figure out there was nothing to eat. Wow, fail. There was only one place to ask for help, and that’s Mizuki’s. Erina took her hoodie and got her slippers on.

KNOCK KNOCK

Somebody knocked on the door as she was about to walk out. Erina opened the door and found out Mizuki was there.

“Hey, I was just about to go to your place.”

“Really?”

“Yeah.”

“That’s great because I was gonna ask for your help.”

“What for?”

“My food’s about to go bad so I really need to finish them. I was gonna ask you to call the senpais too.”

“Awesome! I was just about to ask you for some food because I ran out of them!”

The two went upstairs to call the seniors to help them out with the food. Mizuki always felt bad about asking the seniors to finish the food for her. Erina wished Mizuki would know she’s actually helping them, and not being an annoyance but Mizuki was too nice for that. However, they both agreed to keep the part about food almost running bad to the seniors.

It was always room 303 they entered first, so they could get Sayumi to ask Eri and Reina next door. That was the usual pattern but there was something not usual about it this time.

Erina knocked, “excuse me, Michishige-senpai.” She opened the door and walked in to find out there was another girl sitting across from the three seniors with a table in the middle. The air ceased.

Mizuki followed in and saw the same girl, and Erina looking at the girl. What is this? She thought.

There was something irresistible about this. Mizuki immediately knew. Maybe none of the people here did, but she knew. However, as the third person, it was devastatingly painful to sense that this intensely overwhelming emotion was unrequited. To watch someone fall in love was quite strange. This all happened in less than a second too.

“What is it?” Sayumi broke the silence.

Normally Erina would ask Sayumi to join, but she seemed busy. Mizuki stepped up and stood in front of Erina.

“I have a lot of food for the dinner. I was wondering if you would like to have dinner in my room.”

“Oh,” said Sayumi. She found this situation a bit unfamiliar but she couldn’t really depict why. “Yeah sure. And this is the concertmaster Sayashi Riho-chan. Would it be ok for her to join—“

“Would you like to join us for the dinner?”

The request was from Erina to Riho, but Sayumi answered.

“That would be great! Rihoriho, aren’t you hungry? I’m sure you’re hungry so let’s go eat. Fuku-chan’s food’s very tasty!”

“Thank you,” said Riho, as her eyes were on Erina.

“My name is Ikuta Erina. You can call me Eripon.”

“I’m Sayashi Riho. Nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you.”

Everything was usual as is but it wasn’t. The only difference was it went from 5 girls to 6, but the gap was big. One thing everyone learnt about Riho that dinner was that she eats well. She even asked to be invited again. Well, after all, Mizuki’s parents only send her the finest quality foods.

The plates were all half emptied when everyone heard someone rushing into the building. The footsteps were coming closer and closer to Mizuki’s room. Everyone continued eating except for Riho, who experienced this for the first time.

“Riho-chan, don’t worry. She’s not harmful,” said Eri.

“Who?” Riho asked in confusion.

“There’s someone,” Reina chuckled. “Mizuki-chan, I’m telling you. You should at least lock your door so at least she won’t charge in.”

“I’m sure she’ll just break in then,” Mizuki laughed.

The door burst opened and a woman stood there. She goes by the name Takahashi Ai but people call her the ‘mystery lady’. She’s not a student in Hello University at the moment but still lives here. She would sometimes appear in the school too. She randomly disappears and randomly comes back and no one knows what she does, hence, the ‘mystery lady’.

“Mizuki-chan! Long time no see!”

“You’re lucky, Ai-chan. We still have some food left,” said Sayumi in place of Mizuki.

The woman squeezed between Eri and Reina and went straight for the food.  Riho was a bit uncomfortable but everyone seemed to be OK. Mizuki could feel that Riho was lost, so she decided to help her out.

“This is Takahashi Ai-san,” and she gestured towards Riho, “and this is Sayashi Riho-chan.”

Ai looked up, and became motionless at once when Riho gazed back. The air ceased once again.

Mizuki could feel that something was going on. But this time, it wasn’t intense at all. Very calm, almost as this was supposed to happen, like, you expected it to happen. Like watching a movie you knew the ending of. Such an emotional day, she thought.

The dinner ended just like that and Ai left without saying goodbye. Riho looked around like a lost puppy. However, Ai left.

“That Takahashi-san never changes,” said Mizuki as she laughed.

“She doesn’t say goodbye?” Riho asked.

“No, it’s just that—“

The door burst opened again.

“We might have finished the dinner but the night’s still young!” Yelled Ai, as she held up a white plastic bag clearly filled with liquor. “Let’s start! HAHAHAHA!”

“You drink, Sayashi-chan?” Reina asked.

“I would like to but I’m not weak with alcohol,” Riho answered kindly.

“Good luck, Sayashi-chan. We’ll be here so don’t worry,” Eri looked at Riho with eyes filled with sympathy.

“Ai-chan, if you get too crazy again I won’t forgive you!” Sayumi yelled.

Everyone got scared. Whenever Ai brings alcohol into the night, nothing went well. The biggest problem is that Ai would never drink herself but make her juniors drink. Of course, no miracle happened that night. Ai made everyone drink and they all got sick, especially Riho. A can of beer was good enough to make her feel nauseous. Ai made Riho cry that night and ever since then, Riho put every effort to avoid her. And Ai put every effort to chase her.

My tutor is weird. She’s really weird. It’s only my second time getting tutored by this one and all I could learn about her was that SHE. IS. WEIRD. If she was a guy I would have called the cops long time ago. The only reason why I can’t is because she’s a very cute girl. But I swear she acts like a perverted old man all the time.

“Rihoriho~”

So I’m in her house to get tutored in math, but all she does is randomly calling my name when I’m trying to focus on the questions. It creeps me out to the max. Then I hear someone yell my tutor’s name, not mine.

“Oi, Sayu.”

The door opened and I saw someone who looked like my tutor, but a bit more mature looking. I could easily figure out that she was my tutor’s sister.

“Oh, onee-chan.”

Indeed I was correct.

“Who’s that?” She came close to me in lightning speed, and unexpectedly cupped my face, which took me by surprise. “Wait, aren’t you the cutie Rihoriho? My goodness it is you!”

Wait, when did we ever meet that you’d call me by that nickname? It’s our first time seeing each other. Oh my. They really are sisters. They’re so weird!

NOT YOU but your sister

The nonsense I had to deal with today was just too much. This is all because of Niigaki-san, you see. She was my original tutor but she got busy and recommended Michishige-san to my mother. I will forever curse her for this. So I called her right after the tutoring session with a ridiculous encounter with Michishige-san’s older sister to confront her for this mess. She didn’t pick up the first time but the second, she did.

I coughed out the phlegm before I spoke.

“Ahem, Niigaki-san?”

“Yes, what’s up, Yasshi?” Her voice sounded pretty rough. She must’ve stayed up all night last night.

“The new tutor you recommended to my mother, she’s weird. And when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, her sister was even weirder! She’s really rude too.”

“Haha, the older Michishige-san? Don’t worry. She’s just really social. She shocked me by calling me Gaki-san the first time we met.”

Hmm? So I wasn’t the only one?

“But she came—“ should I mention that she was cupping my face? “Never mind.”

“She’s a really friendly person, and so is Sayu. They might scare you a bit but they’re good people. And certainly, Sayu’s got her math down so don't’ worry.”

“…Fine,” and I hung up.

She’s just really social. Really. How social do you have to be to put your hands on an all-grown-up lady’s face? Ugh, just, no. I can’t believe I have to go to her house in a couple days. I hope she’s not there.

*

Why is it that time goes by so fast when you don’t want it to? I can’t believe I’m here again. I should’ve begged my mother to change my tutor or something. If only if my mother would listen. She’ll trust in anything Niigaki-san says. Niigaki-san’s like a religion to her.

I should knock. No, maybe I should skip. What should I do? What should I—

“Hey, cutie!” Someone petted my head.

“Kyaaaaaaa!!”

I turn around to see who it was and oh, what was I thinking, it was obviously her—the older Michishige. Man, she surprised me again. I think she might be enjoying my reactions. I should just ignore her from now on.

“Hehe, good, I liked that scream. Anyways, why aren’t you going in?”

“I was about to.”

“You were standing here for awhile though.”

“You, you were watching me the whole time?”

“Yep.”

What a creeper! No seriously, I don’t like her. And I know when I open this door and walk in, there’s gonna be another creeper. However, now that I think about it, MIchishige-san’s creeper level is nowhere near her older sister’s. But anyways, double the creepiness.

I had no choice but to walk in as the older Michishige-san pushed me in there. I didn’t like how she treated me like a 5 year old when I’m clearly 10 years older than that.

“Rihoriho!” Here comes the younger creeper. “I missed you so much! Let’s get started.”

So I went inside her room, took a seat across from her and took my pen and paper out. The door was closed but I could totally hear her older sister singing along to Morning Musume’s latest single.

What does she do for a living? It’s not that I like her, but I got curious about her because, I mean, let’s be honest, anyone would be curious about her, as a scientist is curious about his or her experiments. She was just beyond weird. The younger one’s weird but still acceptable and on the margin of social norm. The older one, she’s just plain weird. If I were a scientist I would totally take her brain out and study what’s in it. I’m sure there’s something different from a normal human brain.

“Rihoriho?”

“Huh? What?”

“You seem like you’re a bit off today. What’s wrong?”

“What does your sister do for a living?”

No! I said what’s on my mind! That wasn’t very smart! Riho! Why!

“She’s currently jobless right now. Why do you ask?”

“Because, her singing’s bothering me.”

That answer didn’t make any sense but oh well, like it matters. I went back to doing my questions.

“Rihoriho!”

Randomly calling my name again. MIchishige-san, please. Here it starts again.

*

It’s almost been a week since I went to Michishige-san’s house because she cancelled the last class on me. Niigaki-san never cancelled any classes. I really want Niigaki-san back.

The week passed by really slow. I wonder why, maybe because I didn’t go to the tutor. Whenever I went to Michishige-san time went by fast. Her older sister would creep me out all the time but in the end, they didn’t harm me. I mean, I’m not trying to cover for them but it’s true. Sometime’s the older one’s quite funny too. She would make weird faces with such a pretty face she has.

The last couple days before the tutoring class went by so slow. I actually couldn’t wait for today. No don’t tell me I actually enjoy being with them. What have I become?

This time, I knocked on the door without hesitation. Who knows, she might be looking at me and pop out from somewhere to tell me that she was watching me. I looked around but she didn’t seem to be here.

“Rihoriho! I missed you so much. We didn’t see each other for a week? Right? I’m sorry but I was extremely busy last week.”

“No worries,” I looked around again to check if the older creeper’s here.

She didn’t seem to be here today though. Did she finally get a job? What happened? I was dying to know but couldn’t ask Michishige-san for some reason.

The time went by really slow and by the end of the tutor I was all off. I couldn’t feel my brain thinking. Michishige-san’s actually good at tutoring if you ignore her creepy part but today, just, something was off.

“So I’ll see you again on Thursday, Rihoriho,” said Michishige-san with a bit of a (it might be only from my view but) pervy smile.

“Yeah, um, I might have to leave a bit late on Thursday because I wont’ have a ride otherwise.”

“Sure. How late?”

“Maybe an hour.”

“OK. Just remind me again on the day of.”

That was totally not true. Why did I just lie? Why? (sigh) Anyways, time to tell my mother to pick me up an hour later now. I took my cell phone out and called my mother.

She wasn’t there on the Thursday so I had to spend the whole hour with Michishige-san. She wasn’t there the next class, and the next class. What’s with her? Did she really get a job? With her kind of personality?

If she got a job, shouldn’t I be happy for her? No, in the first place, why do I care so much? Her getting a job has nothing to do with me. I know that.

Yet I find myself looking for her again as I knock on the door. She wasn’t there. Only Michishige-san was there to greet me.

“Rihoriho! It seems like you’ve grown taller these days.”

“I did.”

“Haha, you’re becoming more lady-like! I like what I’m seeing.”

“MICHISHIGE-SAN!”

“Haha, OK, OK. Let’s get started.”

It was a typical class where she would randomly say my name here and there while I do my questions. Nothing special. An hour went by and as the class was about to finish. I heard a voice that made me tremble.

“Sayu, you left your door unlocked.”

It was her.

“Really? I was sure that I locked—“

“Rihoriho! You cutie! I haven’t seen you in so long!” She hugged me. “How are you doing these days?”

I could feel some teardrops on my face. What? I’m crying? Why? Sometimes I wonder if I’m really in control over my body.

“Onee-chan! You’re scaring Rihoriho again. I told you not to bother me when I have tutees over!”

“Oh, sorry,” and she spaced herself away from me, to find out that I was crying. “Wait, Riho-chan, what’s wrong? Did I really scare you?”

As my arms were finally free after she let go of me, I quickly wiped my tears. Unfortunately, new teardrops would quickly fall again.

“Now you did it. You really made her cry.”

“I didn’t do anything.”

“You scared her! Nee-chan, I know when to stop when it comes to teasing cute little girls but you really don’t. How terrible do you have to be to make such a sweet darling Rihoriho cry?”

Um, Michishige-san, sorry, but your comments are creepier.

“I’m sorry Rihoriho, uh,” she went through her purse and handed me some small candies. “Here, have some.”

What? Candies? Really?

“I don’t want them!”

“But I thought kids your age like these.”

“How old do you think I am? 5?”

“Well, 5, 15, it really doesn’t matter since you all look like kids to me,” she chuckled.

I can’t believe she just said that! I ran out and didn’t look back. I’m sure she’ll follow me. I’m sure she will. I hear someone following me already. OK, I should slow down a bit so she can catch me.

“Rihoriho,” she grabbed my hand.

Wait, Michishige-san? No! You weren’t supposed to come. Not from my calculations. Where’s your sister? Your sister!

“I’m sorry. I apologize for my sister. I know she can be really rude sometimes and I know how her comments can hurt girls your age. So again, I apologize.”

“No. I want her to apologize to me directly.”

“Right,” she scratched her head. “How about a dinner for an apology? My sister has a job now so we can get her to buy us a dinner. How does that sound?”

“Are you coming too?”

“Of course I am! If I’m not there, who’s going to protect you, Rihoriho.”

I kinda don’t want you there. How do I say that without actually saying it? Or, maybe it’s OK to start out this way. And later on, I can get her to buy a dinner only for me. And so on, and so on.

“Fine.”

“Haha, I’ll make sure she buys us a dinner the next class.”

And we parted. After all the crying and running, I feel kinda hungry now. I should’ve ran away after taking the candies she offered. No, she’ll really think of me as a kid then. Anyways, thinking back about it, today’s class was kind of fun, though I had to deal with two creepers again.
