[Morning Death]

It has been announced that a new weekly AKB48 TV show called "AKB48 SHOW" will air in NHK BS Premium beginning this October 5th.

 

The TV show will last 3 hours (prepare the harddrives) and will consist of live performances, comedy, and documentary material.

 

It has been said that the show scheduled for this October 25th will have an extensive coverage of the past general election.

Oh no I cannot imagine them doing that... AKBINGO! has been the staple-show of the group for years now (with 0ji and 1ji as predecessor shows of AKBINGO again). SHUKAN AKB was sort of like AKBINGO! no.2, and was great. In addition you have another long-running show in Nemousu TV, now into its 13th season. Some shows I can understand not running for long (Bimyou or Gachi Gase, etc.) but ending SHUKAN AKB was a mistake. AKBINGO! and Nemousu TV ought to run for as long as the groups exist I think.

From what I understand it will be a weekly show that's 30 minutes long, not three hours.

But they will also air a three hour version of the election (which was announced at the same time).

^Maybe the person I got this news from got that part wrong, maybe got confused with the special episode announced at the same time. I will check this out. Hopefully you are right, my harddrives are about to start a strike any moment and dropping the thing to half an hour will make things easier for space. I found a little more info on the show but apart from airing time, the time the program starts, they don't say the length of the program.

 

It is said that the program will consist of music, dance, konto, single and theater song coverage and of course the documentary stuff. I wonder if the thing, all these things, will be wrapped up within backstage footage. Maybe they will do konto improvisations or something, or some members will be host/co-host backstage and will start stuff with other members. Seems interesting.

 

About AKBINGO! going off air because of this TV program, AKBINGO! is in NipponTerebi and this one goes for NHK so I don't see any reason to cancel it because of this new one. Unless, of course, there is some resources, like budget, being redirected or something.

The report says that the show focuses more on dancing and singing, and has short content and documentaries as well. It'll be broadcasted on BS Premium. Broadcasting starts on the 5th of October, from 11:30PM to 12 midnight JST.

I actually like the idea of it, and am looking forward to watching it on Thursdays before Manabu-kun.

I have only seen pieces. The start (?) with Yuihan + Yuko and a little bit of Party ga Hajimaru yo and the sweet performances of Tobenai Agehachou.

 

Tomu looks so gorgeous here and Suzuki Shihori and Maeda Ami and Umeda Ayaka and well all the members.

 

 

Nishino Miki really impressed me with her looseness doing backstage camera work during the janken. She can talk to anyone without making it boring.

I don't know if anyone can vote, I just skimmed along the thing without trying it myself. But apparently only thing that asks you is a prefecture (only thing you may have to lie about I mean ).

 

I will try it later to see if I can request "Darkness Seven Dancers" just to see it performed. That song can never get performed enough! Maybe we would get a crazy line-up!

Also Miyu Takeuchi tweeted that she will perform her Shonichi version on next week episode.

 

Apparently this is all thanks to Shimada Haruka's doing. She told NHK staff that they needed to listen to Miyu's Shounichi, they did, asked her if she could do the whole thing live and there we have it.

Shimada said that all 9th gen members promised to watch this performance when broadcasted. Shimada: "I always liked Miyu's voice but when I first listened to her Shounichi I got goosebumps."
