^ I can't answer that but the article says the idea come from Sumo wrestling.

I don't know much about Sumo wrestling, maybe someone can help out. From wikipedia:

"kenshō-kin (懸賞金) Prize money based on sponsorship of the bout, awarded to the winner upon the gyōji'gunbai. The banners of the sponsors are paraded around the dohyō prior to the bout, and their names are announced. Half the sponsorship fees go to the Japan Sumo Association, and half to the winner."

EDIT: Actually when the candidates enter the stage for the first time during the conference the banner for each of their sponsors are moved across the stage.

If you rewatch the event, you'll see in the beginning when the girls are announced one by one, staff walks by holding a banner. Some girls got several banners.

I didn't expect that 20/29 of them would have gotten selected. I also find it amazing that besides Team K who stated that they wanted some younger girls, that more team did not select the same girls more often. Does this say anything about all of the draftees? Were there too many that stood out or matched a team concept? Or the opposite, none stood out and were pretty much all the same?

Regarding Takita Kayoko:

What fans also found on old blog, is that she stated that she's bisexual. She's got love for both sexes.

Those banner runners are annoying, they went around and around the stage as the draftees introduce themselves.

This is going to be very interesting. I want to see if there will be repercussions, if any. Or simply to see management addressing this thing and showing a posture.

^^^ Well, the draftees that were only selected by one team in the first round may have been the 2nd or 3rd choice of several other teams.

And the teams needed different things. Team H wanted someone who's a bit older for example.

Sasshi said AKB48G needed Kawamoto but their team didn't.

Yes, page 17 posted by Gryzze.

Seems like fans have found the twitter account and ameba blog of Takita Kayoko:

TakitaDraft.jpg

and found comments from her that speak of her passion for AKB and opinion on idols. Apparently she said she dislikes idols who get into scandals because she believes idols should be fans' girlfriends and that she doesn't care for romance and having a boyfriend.

LOL .. i do find this funny ... show how narrow-minded fans are even for Japanese and someone who want to be an idol ...
they keep forgetting that many fans in Japan and some fans overseas like me ...actually are really old and don't really want them to be our girlfriends .. XD

She's not narrow-minded at all.

She's simply following what idols themselves have said before. That idols are fans' girlfriends does not mean you go on a date with them, it's a different idea. At the Paris Expo, when a fan asked the AKB48 girls if they had boyfriends, their answer was "You are our boyfriends!". When Daasuu recently talked about fans, she said she was their girlfriend. Simply put, you cannot call this narrow-minded considering there's different types of idols, and different types of fans, and this idea that the idol should be the fans' girlfriend is a rather classic and standard one.

anyway .. wow finally watch bit of it ..
i think i would stick to Gotou Moe .. I like the way she perform too..Look pretty convincing in the uniform :)
her mum look pretty scary though :P

edit: watched more ..lol
Sudou Ririka is really nice but what did she say during her speech? .
i don't understand Japanese but it look like she got people laughing ..

I would follow them two closely the following year...

btw .. is there a list of the members who turn up for the event for each team?
I mean the other members of the team that was seated with the captain on the table ...

I like the new team logo thing .. guess it would more idol goods to come from it ...

Is this the first time 48G has had members from that far north? I know HP has had a number of people from Hokkaido.

Kanazawa Yuuki (former AKB48 KKS) is from Hokkaido.

Azuma Rion (SKE48 Team E) is also from Hokkaido.

^Yeah

https://plus.google....sts/GA7HH2RLFZH

And Sashihara does the same and goes to visit Yamamoto Mao parents' house as well, to ask for their daughter and give them a present from Tokyo. XD

Too little room for coincidence, must be an appointed date for them to visit their spoils of war draft members.

EDIT

^Damn right, Yukirin and Paruru both went to Hokkaido to visit Kawamoto Saya and talk to her. Yukirin mentions that knowing that if the negotiations bear fruit and Saya accepts she will be moving to Tokyo, reminded her of the expectancies and uneasiness of when she had to leave Kagoshima to enter AKB48.

I guess the captains/leaders/Team reps were asked to go and visit this weekend to talk to them and their parents, probably wasn't much time to do that at the event.
