Tokyo Performance Doll is an idol group formed in 1990. Don’t really know much about their history (1, 2) so if you know better feel free to add your own intro (will edit this one to include it). This year, the group had a reboot. The members are (L to R): Shingu Saki, Tachibana Futaba, Waki Akari, Sana Minami, Takashima Nana, Jonishi Seira, Hamasaki Kaho, Kobayashi Anyu, Sakurako Iida and Sakurai Saki. Nice!! I loved the original! Maybe they'll give AKB a run for their money, since they're theater based too.

 

Do they have any original songs out or are they still doing the 90s songs? And do they have their own theater like the 48's or are they a traveling theater group?

 

(My favorite is either Anyu Kobayashi or Sana Minami, wow the members are all so young...)

Not sure about the AKB thing. Alice Project have a place with many more seats than AKB and well, not sure if anybody knows about it. Also reading over there it seems that their "rivals" are Fairies.
