Apparently at JAM some asshats found it funny to throw glowsticks at them, resulting in the girls to cry really bad. From what I heard no mention about this at all from the girls (but there is a blog post by staff). Fans on Twitter were furious as you can imagine. It's beyond me how people could behave like that. I hope karma will get those people really bad, if babyraids fans don't get to them first. If anyone has more detailed input, please share.

They weren't being thrown at the girls; at least, that wasn't supposed to be the point.

Here's video footage of what happened:

Just general chaos, basically. No ill will towards the girls, but a very unfortunate wota ritual that would have scared the living crap out of me, too.

^ it happened at the TIF Passcode show as well  - light-sticks were thrown at the stage it was definitely deliberate.

It might look cool to do from the audience members' POV but for the girls on stage it could be so dangerous as well as embarrassing. I hope the girls don't feel to upset from it :( People can be idiots and not think about their actions!

It started happening every time they perform "Yoake Brand-new Days"and TIF was the worst as far as I recall. As you can see in the video, it looked like the stage was being shelled by artillery. I forget who it was but at TIF, some of the light sticks actually reached the stage and at least one landed on the top of the tent. At Banmon Fes last year a stick landed on the stage during Moso Calibration right by one of the members near the back.

Just because these idiots are at an idol event doesn't mean that they're fans of whoever is on stage. Some people just like acting dumb or trying to get noticed, like kids running in circles on a playground until they get tired and fall down. A lot of people will flock to PassCode, BELLRING, etc. because they know it will be crazy.

Just watched the Kiwi Stage from @JAM and they were really hurt by how the asshats defiled what's a really amazing song with their childish idiotic behavior. For every really nice, intelligent idol otaku I meet, there's at least a few hundred morons like the ones who will throw light sticks in the air.

That's just terrible!

Not only is it rude to the girls, but it makes all otaku look like crazy idiots.

I believe this is the performance in question. I skipped to the final song and honestly the camera misses most of it but you can see the build up. There's a moment where the music drops and a lot of fans suddenly get out orange glowsticks and you can briefly see 1/2 thrown but the camera is on the girls more and you can see their reactions change. They're really scared and at the end properly crying... they said something along the lines of 'I thought I'd(someone would?) really get hurt. What would I do if that happened?'

(honestly if you really like them you might find the end kind of hard to watch)

I'm not even their fan, just found one song kinda nice, but when I heard about that I got really concerned. Your explanation is enough for me, and that one screenshot I saw of Manatsu crying...no thanks don't think I want to do that to myself. Just good it's over and hopefully will never happen again.

So sad...they had their final performance a few days ago.

I really wanted to go to it, but it was a few hours outside of Tokyo, so I couldn't make it.

I wish them the best of luck in their individual careers.
