^ Probably the transferred girls(Sae-chan, Akicha, Harugon) will still be part of the election.

Within all this sudden transfer, probably those girls will get a lot more new votes...

Go GO SAEEEEE!!!! <3

I think that the Top 64 of the upcoming election will be even more diverse (= mixed with more members from the sister groups, especially NMB48 and HKT48) than last year. Maybel also some Kenkyuusei surprises? I also think that the influence of SKE48 will go back a little. There were a lot of SKE48 members among the Undergirls last year, I don't think that this will happen again.

After having watched the Senbatsu election for the first time last year I think I am going to vote this year. I have already been thinking about it since January ^^;.

Personally I would love to see Akimoto Sayaka in the Senbatsu, but I also keep high hopes for Yamamoto Sayaka (who has gained a lot of respect in my opinion), Watanabe Miyuki and Yamada Nana. I'm anxious about whether Tashima Meru will already play a role in the election.

EDIT: I think that the Future Girls and maybe also the Next Girls will change heavily this year. Last year they were all pretty close to each other so that a few votes could already change everything.

EDIT 2: My kamioshi will not rank anyway, so there's nothing to be concerned about in this case.

Oh man I hope Akicha ranks in senbatsu this year. Last year she was so pissed off.

But hey, she got chosen as the center for the Undergirls, which in itself is a good thing. The song that came with it though...

I'm thinking and hoping that Watanabe Miyuki, Yamamoto Sayaka and Yokoyama Yui do even better this year. Quite a few more HKT girls will probably rank in (Kodama, Moriyasu, Matsuoka, Nakanishi, Murashige, Motomura, Tashima and Tomonaga).

NMB girls that were also unranked last year but have a decent following or recent up in promotion like Shiroma, Jounishi, Kadowaki, Kondou, Kotani, Yoshida, Yagura and Yabushita will most likely rank in too.

AKB-wise, I'm thinking Iriyama, Katou, Kawaei, Takahashi Juri, Iwata, Tano, and Ooshima Ryoka will rank in this year, while the rest of the 9th gen+ that have already ranked in last year will either stay or jump up a bit.

I don't imagine a lot of movement in the top 9 as far as girls coming in and dropping out go right now. I think Sasshi might drop a little, but will probably still stay in the top 9. But the 10-20 range is going to be pretty wild. Sayanee, Milky, Paru seem like the most obvious jumps. I'm curious how the transfer girls hold up and if Yui can take advantage and jump up as well.

I see the same AKB girls making it this year that Tsurugi_Ken suggested, very possibly all of them. New NMB girls, I can see Fuuchan, Mirurun, Akarin, maybe Shu and Keicchi. I think it'd have to be a real NMB takeover to get much more than that, but I'd love to see it. I may revise that depending on how the NMB Request Hour looks. I'm not really sure what to expect from HKT girls, honestly. There are obviously popular girls within HKT, but I don't know I get a huge feeling there are a lot of popular HKT girls within 48. Plus, SKE's not going anywhere, I don't know that I expect them to have less members this year even with two graduating members.

Too many girls, not enough spots! :P I may get extra copies this year, but I'll weigh that in when we get there, especially when I'll be voting for someone I don't really expect to make it even with an extra handful of votes.

I don't think that the girls who transferred to JKT48 and SNH48 will be participating. If they are then wouldn't you have to let the other members of those group participate as well especially the JKT48 members since they have been performing in their own theater already.

If any member who has announced their graduation already doesn't participate as well as the JKT/SNH members then there will be a lot of changes to UG and Senbatsu but this also would allow Miichan and Sasshi a better chance to maintain top 16/7 ranking.

A lot of things can happen this time around, as a whole anyways.

There are many girls who have had a good year from previous senbatsu til the upcoming one.

In particular I don't think I need to mention Paruru, whom I think will rise and might very well make senbatsu. It feels weird saying "might" here but I prefer just being on the extreme side of caution rather than saying she'll win or get top 5 or something insane like that. Of course if she does it, kudos to her for that.

1) Girls whom I think will rise up in position / make the ranks, compared to last time around

Paruru, Ricchan, Milky, Daasuu, Mikitty, Nao, Sayanee, Nana, Rabutan, Haruppi, Aanya, Mio

2) Girls whom I think have the potential to rise up / make the ranks, but I'm not completely sure about

Annin, Karen, Haruu, Renacchi, Nattsun, Seera, Kinoshita, Fuuchan, Keira, Shuu

As for the first, the most obvious candidate is Paruru.

But another girl that has had great success this year is Ricchan. She even has her own campaign, and got put in "unit" AN RI RE as center. The key is just how visible is all of this promotion in the larger context of things? Still, I would be very surprised if she doesn't rank in at all. Then Milky. Milky is a monster, pure and simple. And not in a derogatory sense of the word. I honestly think she can make senbatsu. She has an enormous following due to her massive fishing skills which leaves fans with epic experiences. She was already popular in last election but she stepped up her game a lot. There was talks about how Yukirin was the handshake event queen, but this was just empty hype -- the girls who truly are the best at this are Milky, Fuuchan and Daasuu.

Daasuu I already mentioned, and has had two great elections in a row. If everything lucks out for her I think she can go up a few spots. Mikitty I hope can continue with the momentum she started last year. Still in senbatsu and has continued to please fans with her great attitude and awesome demeanor. Nao is another SKE48 girl who in all honesty might as well be grouped together with the three aforementioned handshake event queens. Got promoted from RS status to full Team E member and she is quickly growing in popularity. Would not be surprised to see her rank.

Sayanee and Nana of NMB48 are both front girls of the group but with a quite visible divide between them. Sayanee should continue to climb towards senbatsu territory while I really hope Nana can improve her position.

Rabutan has had an improvement overall I think after having gone to HKT48, and I really hope it might give her a boost in the election. With her tsundere character and now additional senpai/neesan flavor to it, she's becoming really funny.

Haruppi failed in last election, but I think she has done well after it, and hasn't lost anything. She really ought to rank. Then there's Aanya ... I want to see her rank, but I'm just not sure. She is really entertaining though and I'd be disappointed and surprised to not see her rank. Finally HKT48 team mate Mio, the new ultra loli who in my opinion is far more of an ace in that group than Meru. Let's see if we get a rerun of last year, where fans expected Haruppi but surprisingly got Sakuratan instead. Mio might just beat Meru in the same fashion.

The second group to me mainly consists of girls who should and can rank, but I am just unsure if they have what it takes, for different reasons. Almost all of them have had a very good year, again for different reasons, and their fans might look to push them further.

Then there's the group of girls who have experienced major and minor scandals/issues, both very well known ones and some not so well known:

Miichan, Yukirin, Kitarie, Kana, Takamina, Akicha, Amina, Sasshii. These are all girls that have ranked in election before, and girls who all have had things to deal with from before til now - in various scales (or have encountered serious rumors / harsh criticism). Others who could've been included here would've been Tomoomichan but she's graduating. We'll see when the time comes, if these issues had any effect on them or not.

Finally there's a lot of girls that have or will graduate before this event, which can let other girls get a new spot. I'm really looking forward to this election, and hope they're keeping as many spots open as last year.

I wouldn't actually be surprised if Minegishi went as low as the 40's this time around. That was a really bad move on her part.

Kitahara might go to the early twenties (probably being replaced by Shimazaki) because of that whole Terrace House debacle, and she hasn't really gained that many fans in SKE's territory either.

Satou Amina, she might take a deep dive too.

Sashihara on the other hand, I can still see her within the top 8. She's still wildly popular, and a lot of people have actually seen and heard of how good she is as a person, a mentor, and a spokesperson for HKT48. She also is still a regular on so many shows, which helps greatly.

I really wonder how Tano will do. She's a very explosive performer and has the attitude to make it big in her career, but hasn't had much exposure outside of the theater performances. Her unique exotic looks has made her quite a bit popular among the members themselves too.

Anyway, Watanabe Miyuki. She wrote down "Make it to the top 10 of senbatsu" as her goal this year. With Itano graduating and a few places from 11-14 quite unstable, she really has a good chance of making it. Let's hope her fans actually rally high and show her their support.

As always, there is only one thing I'm really concerned about: Wasamin maintaining a good position.

She did sooo well last year, better than I think most of us expected, getting centre of Next Girls. But there hasn't been much hype around her yet this year. Her 2nd single didn't get as much promo, and I'm worried that the initial excitement about Wasamin has worn away. If she were to release a third single at least a month before the election single is released, then she'd be fine. But if not...I think she'll still rank, just not as well. The competition from ex-Team 4 members and ex-KKS is too strong, not to mention the competition from other groups. (I mean, SKE KKS Kaotan was just one rank behind Wasamin!)

I think I'll be voting again this yes, just 'cause Wasamin is in the range where even just one vote can make a difference.

This isn't to say I don't care about other girls, 'cause I do. But Wasamin is tops. happy.png

To me .. its going to be very hard to predict for this coming election ..

I think its more of a test for the fans than the idols ..

The result will show the climate of the fans there ...

To me ... 48 have reach their max in market size and I don't think the people voting will grow much anymore .. there may even be a fall in vote numbers ..

So position is not a useful way to look at ..but its the number of votes that I am interested with ...

honestly .. I always believe that most fan start with AKB48 ... but its a case of them moving  .. meaning their loyalty ..

We have already seen the move last year as more sister group members are getting the votes ...

given the climate that AKB48 is in the process of renewal and people are going ...as they try to push the new ones ..

we should see more sister group members doing well ...because people are usually more interested in growth than renewal ..

To me we should see more people moving away from the one they usually vote and go for someone new ... so we should see a big shake up ...

but I feel the top few will always be there .. but their hold on their fans should weaken on vote count though ...

For me .. hmm ...

I would predict Meru doing very well ... maybe a debut senbatsu position ..

yes ..its rather impossible .. but that's why I think the fans will do it  ..

Forgot where i saw it, but i remember Sae-chan making a comment about how she wouldnt be in the senbatsu this year because of her move to SNH.

main thing i'm thinking of at the moment is who will not enter the senbatsu this year. expecting a few names to not enter at all under the guise of "letting a newer generation have a chance".. those will be the people considering graduating soon.

HKT in the election...

While there are a lot of free spots and opportunities to get elected are better than ever... Still the hierarchy is always present. Sasshi, Sakura and Haruppi will get their spots but where does the power of HKT end? At last years election NMB got five spots and they felt much stronger than HKT does right now.

Time is always an enemy and reminds me of Kaoru and Jo.. Good amount of promotion but didn't get enough time to gather enough fans that were willing to spend enough money. Even the 64th spot was expensive last year and I fear that Meru and Mio might fall under the same curse. Aanya will be this years Kinoshita... funny as hell and appreciated by many but not enough powervoters.

The hierarchy according to 1st HKT single event sales:

Sashihara......12/12

Miyawaki........12/12
Kodama..........10/12
Tomonaga......*9/12(2)
Moriyasu........*7/12(4)
Matsuoka.......*5/12(3)
Murashige......*4/12(3)
Motomura.......*4/12(3)
Tashima..........*4/12(3)
Ota.................*4/12(1)
Nakanishi.......*3/12(1)
Anai................*1/12(1)

Numbers says Mio is fourth and beats Meru by far for these events but will it be enough to be elected.

...Mio being the better ace compared to Meru, not a chance. She is a super cute little girl but not enough skill to be front ace at the moment. Money talks though and if peoples interest in Mio continously overhadow Meru then change might come.

SKE have advanced even further, they will not be less prominent. NMB is bigger and stronger than last year even though Ainyan is on her way elsewhere. AKB... well this is where the interesting stuff will happen. Many big vote magnets have failed or will graduate and if the overseas girls won't participate OMG. Thank god for Paruru :D

HKT48 girls - G+ followers so far:

Sakuratan: 78,038

Aanya: 71,534

Haruppi: 57,896

Moripo: 44,774

Natsu: 43,831

Chori: 42,707

Kyappu: 40,202

Aoi: 38,930

Wakaharu: 37,163

Nao: 33,158

Shinamon: 32,903

Seriinu: 31,937

Minazou: 29,748

Kyouka: 27,319

Mio: 26,354

Meru: 21,370

and the two ex AKB48 girls:

Sasshii: 342,746

Rabutan: 92,854

Not that I think this matters too much - but it's interesting how some have quite much more followers than others. Sakuratan and Aanya are beating many other known girls from SKE and NMB here. Of course, handshake event sales matters as well - so it's always necessary to look at all the factors as a whole. I hope HKT48 manages to get 4-5 girls at least in the ranks as a whole.

It matters and it is intersting :D
Because Sakura and Aanya are top members and provides great content so everything is in order. Though G+ is free to add it still shows that people are interested however, events are expensive. You could look at numbers all day... AKB, SKE and NMB elite will beat HKT's equivalent (however Sasshi is quite special :D) every day of the week because time is of great importance.

Both SKE and NMB got five spots in their second election so 4-5 spots should be something reachable for HKT too. Though SKE only got six spots in their third election...  but I have visions of more NMB spots for this third election :D

In terms of ranking, if we look at top two G+ girls from HKT48 - namely Sakuratan and Aanya - they have the following girls (well, users) ahead of them (note that the list here is still including graduated members based on what number of followers they had - I also skipped out adding the numbers):

01. Yuko
02. Marikosama
03. Yukirin
04. Sasshii (HKT)
05. Rena (SKE)
06. Kojiharu
07. Akimoto
08. Acchan (graduated)
09. Tomochin (to graduate)
10. Akicha (JKT)

13. Sae (SNH)
14. Sayanee (NMB)

25. Umechan
26. Tomoomichan (to graduate)
27. Sayaka
28. Amina
29. Yuttan (graduated)
30. Minarun
31. Harusan (JKT)
32. Nana (NMB)
33. Shiichan
34. Harukyan
35. Ricchan
36. Ayarin
37. AKB Translator
38. Kuumin (SKE, to graduate)
39. Shiorin (SKE, to graduate)
40. Haruu
41. Haachan
42. Yuria (SKE)
43. Suuchan
44. Ranran
45. Myao
46. Airin (SKE)
47. Moeno (to graduate)
48. Daasuu (SKE)
49. Mariyagi

53. Rabutan (HKT)

57. Nakamatta
58. Nakayan (to graduate)
59. Kana
60. Komorin
61. Kaotan (SKE)
62. Miorin
63. Wasamin
64. Kanako (to graduate)
65. Masana (SKE)
66. Manatsu (SKE)
67. Kris
68. Juritan
69. Nacchi (graduated)
70. Maachun (NMB)
71. Tanamin
72. Aamin
73. Nattsumii
74. Sakuratan (HKT)
75. Mariyannu (SNH)
76. Nishishi (SKE)
77. Katsuo (SKE, to graduate)
78. Chiichan
79. Karen
80. Aanya (HKT)

Sakuratan: 5 NMB girls ahead of her, 1 of which will graduate. 14 SKE girls ahead of her, 4 of which will graduate.

Aanya: 5 NMB girls ahead of her, 1 of which will graduate. 16 SKE girls ahead of her, 5 of which will graduate.

It may look impressive to be the top-two of HKT (ignoring Sasshii and Rabutan) when it comes to followers on G+, but looking at this list, it's not much. In fact in many respects it seem to mirror senbatsu election ranking somewhat. Meaning lower tier girls have positions corresponding - and likewise mid tier, upper tier, high tier, senbatsu, etc.

So I think it'll be tough to make a dent for HKT, but it all comes down to fans and their wallets.

I think any Google+ number can be a bit misleading when looking at things overall, same with +1's and especially comments. Not only when considering differences in popularity between groups, but when trying to decide how many of someone's followers would actually vote for said girl. It's one thing to have 45,000 followers, it's another to get 4,500 votes. Of course, this isn't a unique perspective or anything. It's certainly fun to look at how the elections can shape Google+ followers and as one element of gauging popularity, it is valuable.

But if we look at the root of why, besides simply being ultra popular, someone would follow a girl, interesting and exciting profiles can create a lot of things that won't show up in the election. It can work in someone's favor to actually increase their popularity, like Kaotan, or it can simply be what it is, as was the case with Yuppi. I remember her being one of the more followed NMB girls about a year ago when she did her comics, but her self deprecating humor against her own popularity in the appeal videos showed her awareness that Google+ was not building something tangible for the elections, even despite her involvement in the Gugutasu senbatsu.

One thing I will absolutely agree with, however, is that HKT girls are going to have a hard time this year, which is why I really don't know what to expect with them as far as non-Sasshi or Lovetan representation goes. NMB and SKE may have had five girls in their second year, but neither were releasing their first single just ten weeks before the election. While Meru will assuredly get a spot in the next single senbatsu, that sudden appearance didn't work for Jo or Haruppi last year. If I had to bet, I would guess Sakura and Haruppi get spots, but I really have a hard time feeling confident about Mio (or Meru) or anyone else.

^ lol .. no idea .. but it seem to be in June going by the last few years ..
==========
anyway .. I think its impossible to use any sort of popularity chart to come up with a good reference with the election result ..because the election is structured very differently ...
1)election vote cost money ..and people can vote any amount they want within the amount they want to pay for.. so a guy may only appear as 1 vote on the other popularity charts may pack a 5000votes on election
2)Fandom of people are different .. some may vote for a few different idols but some will stick to one ..so a guy who support a bunch of idols on popularity charts may only vote for 1 person in election ..
3)Unknown events may happen ... like pending graduation, sudden hype at the right time, fan organised campaign or even scandal etc that may suddenly change the result of the election ..

however .. all this popularity chart do give us a good reference on popularity of the masses by quantity ... its does not give a good reference on quality and qualities .. which is what the election is about ..
But we can still use it with good fun and with a pinch of salt as we go on to make it interesting .. :)

I still remember the two Wota's interviewed on the Japanese news last year, one had bought 1000 votes/cd's and the other 700+ and they were putting them all on Yuko, one guy invited the reporter into where he lived, it
was smaller than one of my bathrooms and you couldn't see his bed for unopened boxes of cd's that is really sick. Then we had the American who spent 4000 dollars trying to get Wimbledon to the top of SKE's Top Fifty because he liked Kumi and she had said she wanted the song to be at the top.

SNH48 have it right, you have to be a member of their fan club to vote, prove your identity and it is one person one vote. The AKB election would be totally different if this was enforced.
