well people have different taste in vocal tone. Karin's voice is more towards seiyuu kind of voice, her squeals in the end of her lines is more like a bad habit when she get over exciting or not focused enough (showa era idol cutesy gimmick).

 

Karin's are famous because she have the whole package:

- Looks: Porcelain skin, slender, thin leg, small body, and small face

- Singing: Her voice tone are popular among anime otaku, her singing technique is great

- Performance: stage performance is good, always aware towards camera, good talking skill, expressive in front of camera, dance skill quite good

- Character: Cute, confident, experienced at reading atmosphere, and hard working (she start being idol from age 9)

other member might be better than her in one or other point but the whole package still favor karin. and you can change karin with airi, tanaka reina, momochi, natsumi abe, sayashi, sayu (when MM14) etc. their trait doesn't differ much. But to be a popular girl in japan you need to have several trait fulfilled. it's like japan ideal woman trait.

 

So what you're saying is that she's the "Super Mario" of Juice=Juice?  Which is humorous, given her surname!
