I'm going to be in Japan between the 12th and 27th of February.

The main reason for my trip: Berry Koubou Concert Tour 2013 Spring!!!

My plan is to attend all their concerts in Kanagawa, so 6 of them in total.

If there are any other H!P events happening during my stay I might try to attend those as well.

The rest of the time I'll be in Tokyo and it's surrounding areas doing touristy stuff.

If anybody wants to meet-up with me, I'm game.

Finally somebody gets the "Space Ghost" reference.

As for touristy stuff, I'd like to visit the following places:

Meiji Shrine
Sensoji Temple
Tokyo National Museum
Edo-Tokyo Museum
Miraikan
Tokyo Skytree

I'd also like to check out a few of the restaurants/food places our beloved girls went to on Hello Pro! Time - as well as munch on pizza from Pizza-La, in honor of Buono!

Other than that, I'd prolly just stroll around Shibuya, Harajuku and Akihabara, taking in the atmosphere (and trying not to go broke while going on the inevitable shopping spree).

I will be in Japan (specifically, Tokyo) from January 12th until April 9th. I expect to be splitting my time fairly evenly between idol events and noise/free jazz/psych rock shows, ha
I will probably be extremely lonely, so I would imagine it would be fun to meet up with people from here.

I've been to some of those Tourist places.
The museums sound interesting.
I've been to Tokyo Tower, this time I was also planning to go to Tokyo Skytree.

I'm definitely all for going to places our H!P girls have eaten or been at.

I'll be in Tokyo at the end of March and in Kobe from April to August as an exchange student I'll also try and attend Reina's graduation and possibliy other concerts too. Maybe we could meet up! I'd love to do a Karaoke session with H!P fans or something like that

I'll be Kobe sometime in July and August. Haven't decide whether or not to try to get H!P Summer show tickets in Osaka this year. But will definitely be trying to get NMB48 show tickets, visiting the AKB48 Shop & Cafe, the NMB48 Official shop, and hanging out a lot at Opai Koen (just a hop, skip, and a jump NW of Sannomiya station).

This year is my 10 year wedding anniversary .. and I and my wife have decided that we should go somewhere special .. >>> Japan ..lol
(LOL ..we have went Japan every year since 2008)

I still don't know when ... but my wife want the cold weather .. because my country is really hot all year round ..

I will be hoping for a S/mileage concert ... but any other H!P group will do just fine ..

But it should be Tokyo or Osaka ..
We like Osaka more because it more fun .. but Tokyo is more happening ...
Furthermore .. we just been to Toyko last year in August ..
where i caught S/mileage Handshake event and AKB48 in Tokyo Dome..
Chances is we will go Osaka ..lol

For 48 .. AKB48 show seem impossible to win ..
and so is SKE48 show ..
I have never won them after so many tries ...
But I won NMB48 show twice in just 8 biddings ..
That's I love Osaka ..lol

but in any case .. idols will take 2nd place because its a holiday trip with my wife ..

I really want to go to Japan sometime soon, but I'm not sure when... I mainly want to see C-ute and especially Kanna, so I'll be looking at what opportunities I would have for that. The main problem though is that I'm not really familiar with Japan, I don't speak Japanese (much), and I'm really nervous to try to get around by myself, so I really would like to meet up with some people who are more familiar with Japan

I'm trying to go to Japan as a foreign exchange student in Spring 2013 but its soooooo expensive asdfghjkl. I'm gonna try to use financial aid but it may work, it may not. I dont know much japanese but I can learn. But yeah my goal is going to Musashi University in Tokyo some time around March or April. Of course I'm gonna see H!P/AKB in concert and shop around.
Edit: Things have changed and I looked around some more and I got offered to join a program that tours around Japan in the summer time (like around July), so most likely I'm gonna be in Japan for 10-15 days in the month of July. So yeah I'm most likely using that program and I'll tell you when its a done deal and confirmed that I'm going to Japan.

@Kannaforever: A Kanna fan, sugoi~! It sounds like it maybe your first time. I've been there every year since 2009 and I sometimes feel uneasy about going into shops/restaurants because I think what if I can't understand something and it gets embarrassing. And it's somehow a lot easier when there are others around you during that scene. But it's not that hard I think, you'll be fine.

Anyway .. is there a way to Kanna .. ?
I saw C-ute but by the time I got to Japan to see them they are already a 5 member group ...

Anyway .. I been to Japan ay least once every year since 2008 ..
And total .. 7 times ..

My Japanese is hopeless actually near zero if you take away the common 1 words that anyone knows ..

Basically don't worry .. so far i only made a few mistake but Japanese are really helpful to foreigners ..
and actually they get even more helpful because of the language barrier ..
My biggest problem is cafe .. lol the different drinks is hard to order .. so I just go by the easiest "Coffee" ..lol
cos its actually the almost same in Japanese .. anyway I love coffee so they can't really mess up ..lol

Come on .. i even brought people who are great in their Japanese and got to save them from screw up because ..
People who know Japanese tend to be over confident and misunderstand stuff ..
but when you use English and other common sign and symbols .. actually they get more careful with you and you get more careful with them ...

example like me going to the NMB48 theater ..the staff brought me to the place to stand specially ... rather than just giving me direction ..
and the staff got me a great seat because I dunno its free seating in the theater .. lol

Its actually more of an advantage that you are bad or dunno Japanese than some who claim to be great in Japanese ... LOL

another tip is go for other obvious foreigner who are more familiar than you ... at a S/mileage handshake .. I ask a Caucasian if he know English and how the S/mileage handshake work ..
and he explain it great to me .. lol and everything work out great ... lol

In the end .. don't turn off your English .. like I got friends who insist on asking people where is the ticket counter in Japanese.. when they are facing a counter with the giant English word "TICKETS" on top of the counter ... >.<
and they asked and proudly tell me that is the ticket counter .. :facepalm: ..

In the end .. stay clam and know that they are people who start learning English in middle school ..just that they are bad at it because they don't get a chance to use it ..and usually they are more than happy to get a chance to use it .. lol

Anyway ... my most possible plan now is actually Nagoya and Osaka in mid April ..
The only problem is the cost of the flight tickets .. still waiting for a more affordable ticket ..

I know you have edited your post, but just for the future: have you considered studying abroad at Tokyo Sophia University? They have numerous lectures in English so Japanese isn't a must. And about the money, you can apply for a JASSO stipend. JASSO is an organization that helps out exchange students in Japan and provides the ones they chose with up to 80.000 Yen per month.

I'm still looking through programs lol but no, I've never considered actually going to an actual Japanese uni to study but I'm a community college student so idk if that works. I'm gonna look more into it for the future because rn I'm just going in my second semester as a freshman so I'll check it out.
