While Team 4 had become my favorite AKB team and "Hashire! Penguin" was maybe my favorite AKB song of 2011, I chose my individual oshimen in a losing effort for "Nandeyanen, Idol" compared to the "Hashire! Penguin" push. I'm delighted it worked out the way it did for "Hashire!" because it didn't put me in a difficult situation of having to feel bad for not voting for the song that would mean the most to me if it did place against a song and team I love(d) dearly.

Also, it being #1 was a (pleasant) surprise, I thought it was absolutely guaranteed for a top five spot, which did play a factor in me not spending my vote on it. It wasn't going to (and definitely didn't) need my support to rank high. While I understand superstitions and so forth, I don't know how anyone could've went into Request Hour thinking it wasn't a shoe-in for the top five. The only thing in the past year that seemed more obvious to me was Yuko being voted #1 in the elections.

I was pretty sure it would rank high when it had the support before Request Hour, but one never really knows, perhaps it'd rank #7, perhaps #4 etc. But #1 was epic

Honestly if everyone I've ever seen name this as one of their favorite 48 songs (on both English and Japanese forums) put effort into voting this one into Request Hour it would probably rank pretty high. Problem is there's so many conflicting interests at work picking a song to vote for (graduation/transfer/dissolution initiatives for one, then most especially the oshimen factor) that I don't even know how a "vote for this song just because you really love it" campaign would even get off the ground, haha.



Re: Hashire Penguin expectations--I was 99.9% positive it was going to be performed on the last day, and maybe 75% positive it would be number one, but that last .1-25% of uncertainty still made for an exciting wait...

1. Inter-forum agreement to have everybody at least give one vote to this song.
2. Use social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and so on to spread awareness of campaign.

But this alone won't help, at least not for a #1 position - so I think for this to have any sort of success, it would have to be tied in with 2ch and Japanese news sites that quotes from 2ch, and likewise so also tied into G+ so that fans can see it there as well.
If then perhaps Japanese community could be convinced or informed that international community is aiming for that song, perhaps then the Japanese community could also at least give one vote for this song each, if not more.

Basically that's the only way I can see it happening. First setting it up here, overseas, getting forums and blogs and so on in on the plan. Then when a joint operation has been decided upon, an English and Japanese message is created in a thread on 2ch for it, at the AKB48 forum. Encouragement for this to take place, and so on.

(Edit: Never having made a "My favorite 48 songs" rank, I don't know where which song ranks for me, but safe to say Mori e Ikou and Yume wo Shinaseru Wake ni Ikanai are two of my most loved AKB48 songs of all time. Truly fantastic.)

Well .. being very noob ...
i just found out no long that Hashire pengiun is not originally suppose to be a team 4 song ..

in the end .. its not the song .. it could be any song ..
its for the idols and reaction to a event that happen ...

In the end ... we do know that while some just vote because they can and they just do it ...
the majority voted with a reason and objective in mind ...

In the end ... does the fan get what they deserve is all on the idols...
for me .. i just need an exp<b></b>ression of joy and thankfulness from them ...
I dunno what others need or want ...

Passing the responsibility of voting to someone else is not something i do ...
fact is .. everyone thinks that Heavy Rotation will do extremely well and pass it to someone else ..
in the end .. its not even the highest ranking single song ..

I think most people if not all don't think that Hashire penguin can get no.1 ..
I think I already have the highest hope back then which is no.3 ...
My hope only goes up when I saw very popular songs fall down the chart ...
and when I saw SDN48 .. I knew they really have a good chance ...
because .. I see the fans did vote with a purpose ...

and before .. i get really lost ..
which i had ... I would go back to the articles.. and say that it is lack of a better word ..rubbish ...
that's the problem .. when you take opinion of fans and mixed with opinion of idols ... and take it as fact ..
its is a big mess ..because both party have no idea in fact ...

For this case the main key to it is TGSK .. he started this KKS manager thing ..
We absolutely got no idea what is in his mind .. and neither the girls ...
anything still goes ...
To me .. its just a joke ... to lighten the situation ...

The reason behind this voting is also questionable because it totally unnecessary ..
I would think this may fall under the
"we try something new, and when it goes bad, we stop it and apologise"
AKB48 has had many of this kind of mistake in the past ..
but nothing ventured nothing gained i guess ...

I see SKE48 losing some fans from this ... because its a sort of disrespecting of fan opinion ...
mixed with their lack of appreciation of fans vote and mass graduation ...

guess the ones to gain from this is NMB48 .. i think ...
we wait for the senbatsu election and see ...if I am right ..
but in any case the 2 Matsui is untouchable because they are AKB48 in people's mind ...
but the rest will shake .. and I wouldn't be surprise that NMB48 will do the SKE48 kind of sweep this coming senbatsu election...

well .. that is what i think now .. but SKE48 still got 3-4 months to do something to change that though ...
but if it really happen badly for them ... people would blame Shiba .. LOL

anyway .. their even playing field is G+ ..
when you are from the sister group .. you score when you thank people for voting in a song that you are not the original and you didn't do it ... but you fail if you didn't thank people for voting when you are the original and did it ...

So anyone bother to do a count on that ? ..

Anyway .. this few days had been great ...
really hope they do the same streaming again next year ...

For this year ... we are able to watch real time ...
making it more meaningful then just waiting for a line tweet for the result..

Hashire Penguin is only for this year ...
Its a miracle and its magical that it happen ...

Next year ...chances is I wouldn't vote the same ..
there may even be a chance that I can't vote at all ..

there is still almost a whole year ...
anything could happen ...

The chance of me voting for hashire penguin is very low ...
touch wood ... the only chance is actually Aamin graduating and Miyu will be my next Kami-oshi .. then it may happen ... but nah .. don't want that to happen ...lol

Maybe next year .. I would take part in a chance to vote a SKE48 or NMB48 song in?

To be able to see the songs being ranked live was as epic as the streamed election... Total. Idol. High.

For the next occasion... Then I assume we will have new stages out for all AKB teams, Team N, Team S and Team H. If this election was exciting then imagine when you got that many new songs to consider. Anything could happen, indeed.

Sounds like the runner-up songs were posted again, but I'm not sure where to find them at. All I know is that Kanakichi was surprised that "Nandeyanen, Idol" came in at 133, and someone in the comments posted the other NMB songs that got spots.

Only on the Blu-ray ..they will have the MV of Hashire! Penguin ...
Finally we will get a Team 4 MV OMG... time to save up for me ...
