Hahaha, Paruru center. Is the song gonna be called "utsuronahyoujou" (blank-face)? :P
At least Moeno in the number 2 spot is interesting. (Not that I dislike Paruru, but I don't think I've ever seen that girl betray any kind of emotion whatsoever. )

I would've liked either Yokoyama or Nitou as center, as they would've made better singles, but I'll just wait and see. Maybe Shimazaki can surprise us.

As a Moeno Oshi I was very happy she made it into senbatsu since this would be only her second senbatsu. It felt like she was going to win after she took out Mariko-sama and Ucchi but being 2nd isn't bad either.

I like the mix of senbatsu we got this time but it would have been nice to see at least 1 or 2 NMB or HKT members. 4 regular senbatsu members seems about right to me. Glad Chichan and Natsumi made it too.

I was kinda following the event through g+ via all of the comments. Seems like almost all of the comments about the live coverage was negative, anyone have any idea why?

Well got to go preorder this single now.

It was probably just the fans upset that their oshimen didn't make it or didn't place higher, and with their anger having nowhere to go they decided to post some negative comments about the members that DID manage to get through and such. It's a pretty common outcome.

In comparison, most of the posts from the members I follow myself have been positive, including the people that commented on their posts.

Also, if I had a choice, I would've preferred Nitou instead of Shimazaki too, as she's far more interesting tv-wise.

droopy10, I heard the TBS broadcast was spent more in interviews and commercials than covering the early rounds in any kind of respectable fashion. I think they finally focused in once the senbatsu was set, but I gathered the matches between the less popular members were cut out entirely in favor of coverage of the more popular members sitting around.

I didn't catch it, but if anyone can clarify that, it'd be great. :)

@satchan: Yes. That is true. While matches were happening they were doing interviews with the popular members that either failed or succeeded moving into the next rounds. I never got to see Ishida Haruka's costume until she posted a photo of her wearing it on Google+.

They only did highlights for the lesser known members that still had significant fanbases from the first to second round, and only started focusing on the actual matches during the 3rd round. We also got a disgusting amount of commercials that cut in between the content (sometimes forcibly).

Even though it was a three hour special they only spent about two hours on the janken taikai.
Why did they have to invite other artists instead of focusing on the live event?

I would've liked to see some NMB and HKT members in the senbatsu but other than that I'm happy with the result.

It was basically Kayoukyoku + the Janken Tournament in one go after all. Kayoukyoku usually have other guests besides their main guest if I recall, so Porno Grafitti and that other duo were there for that. They were also used to grab some time while the winners of the Janken tournament and other members that were called to the studio were on their way.

It would've been interesting to see more NMB and HKT members indeed, but other than Kojima's perfect attendance record being destroyed, I found the results pretty decent (got to see Matsubara after a long time).

Based entirely on tgsk's g+ pictures, my favorite outfit of the tournament is Sae's. She looks sooo cool. :o I'm almost forgetting all of the bad outfits she's worn over time.

There were a few girls that showed off their busts in the tournament, but I don't recall any of them ever getting far.

I enjoyed Watanabe Mayu's (she said that she spent a lot of time on the costume) and Yokoyama Yui's (she showed how classy Kyoto women are).

Well... you either get talked about by good results or your attire. So it's playing it safe in case you're unlucky when you dress sexy. :D

Anyway... a different —but related— topic... I read somewhere that they booed the judge guy (Yamasomething) when he entered the stage. Anyone knows why the fans booed him? He dropped Mayuyu as his oshimen or something?

Yamasato always had a lot of rumors about him not actually being the AKB purist that he portrays himself as on television, with such allegations as him actually being a fan of Momoiro Clover Z, and him pushing forward Shimazaki Haruka as the next ace right after Maeda Atsuko graduated even though he constantly says that he's Watanabe Mayu's greatest fan made a lot of people think he was a DD (Dare Demo suki / likes anyone) or a hypocrite. Him announcing that Shimazaki Haruka would become the next ace of AKB, and Shimazaki winning the Janken tournament also made people suspicious that the results for the finals may have been pre-determined (people like their rumors).

Anyway, a lot of people find Yamasato annoying for the most part.

Forget Yamachan portraying himself as an AKB purist; he's rarely been showing any support for AKB at all lately. He been heavily pro-Momoclo in stuff I've seen on him on recently, especially in going overboard as a Momoclo supporter during the recent vs. Arashi episode where he teamed up with Momoclo.

I was wondering if they would bring him in as the judge again, but I'm not surprised they did, nor am I surprised he would've been booed. I like Yamachan though, he's got the dream job, even if he's been a huge front runner and will continue to be, haha. He abandoned Perfume for AKB, AKB for Momoclo, and will abandon Momoclo for the next big idol group.

I actually do remember the period when he was constantly talking about Perfume.

He's basically your average fair-weather idol otaku that goes to which ever new group gets popular and acts like he's been their most loyal fan from the beginning. It's no wonder that people hate him. The fact of the matter is that he's been the referee for the Janken tournaments since the beginning, so having him replaced so suddenly would be a fairly strange sight. Maybe they secretly want him to actually revert to his AKB loyalty. Either way, I couldn't care less if he was actually replaced, and I would actually prefer Togasaki himself to be the referee instead.

And yes, a lot of people also hate him because he works with a lot of idols most of the time on television.

But enough of that, I'm still sad that girls like Kitahara, Takahashi Juri, and Kawaei Rina got demolished so quickly in the first round. I was rooting for them to get to top 16 and all.
