More like Aya Matsuura! Ayaya was the first person I thought of when I saw the performance of this. Sasshi is an idol fan though so perhaps she's emulating her in her own way.

Well, this doesn't affect me, since I won't buy either of it...
But how the Sashihara fans do it that also want to buy the Nogizaka single(s)?

Will you simply buy both at the same time and do not care much about that rivalry setup? Or will you buy two (or more) sets of Sasshi's singles and only one set of the Nogizaka's singles? Or will you buy the Nogizaka singles a week later? That's what I wonder.



BTW, I like the cover of the theater version best. And in any case I cheer for Sashiko's victory.

@dev-null: At first I thought I'd order Nogizaka's singles a week later but I ended up ordering two sets of Sasshi's singles instead...

Besides I think this "rivalry" will help them both in the end.

I had actually thought Sasshii would get more than that for her first single. Not that it's a bad sales figure or anything, but yeah.

I'm not surprised. I thought it would seller better than that but I was sure Nogizaka46 would sell more.

Nogizaka's last single sold around 120,000 copies in the first week and that's hard for most solo artists to match.

And the group has gained popularity since then. I doubt even Acchan could win against them this time.

This is true, they're getting stronger, and they are basically an AKB cousin group (instead of sister group), plus they have the same handshake model as the 48 groups.

Just listened to the single, I really like it. :-D I was expecting a little bit more for the Yeah! Meccha Holiday cover though but I really like the whole idol sound of the single especially Hatsukoi Heels and Renai Sousenkyo (Itoshiki Natasha is awesome as usual)

I'm expecting Sashiko wota to respond to this result by carrying a bucket of their life savings to retaliate on Nogizaka lol .
However still, I don't expect Sashiko to win this one.

I'm more interested in Sashihara vs Watanabe debut single first week sales.

That's a surprising result.

Not really surprising since it's a debut single. Several years from now an artist could be very big and having original copies of the debut single to sell at astronomical price later is really worthwhile. See how people who bought the original AKB48 debut single Sakura blah blah blah can now really inflate the price since it's hard to come by. That single also is the highest selling AKB single pre-Kings Record era. See Tomochin's case and how sales of her subsequent singles keep going down. But her debut is very impressive. It's an investment for wotas.

lolololol. apparently singles are classified as having up to 4 songs. The theatre version had 5 so sales weren't included on oricon

Yeah, Oricon doesn't count it as a single if it has more than 4 songs on a CD.
And that's 12k copies of the Theater version sold .... still not enough to defeat Nogizaka this week though.

Well, at least she released her first album at the same time
