so, Billboard Japan single sales top 100 for this year has been released,, 7 H!P singles make it to the list,,(Momusu 2,C-ute 2,Angerme 2,Juice=Juice 1)

While I was about to celebrate, looking at that list was rather depressing.  To me H!P is the world of Jpop... I seldom venture out of it with a few exceptions.  To see some of my favorites above the 60 mark??  So sad.

last yearly ranking there are 4 H!P singles, 2 Momusu and 2 C-ute

this year there are 6 singles, 3 Momusu, 2 C-ute and 1 Angerme, so increasing by 2 singles,,

 

also last year highest ranking for C-ute is #87 now #83, for Momusu it was #48 now #39, so there is improvement,,

As expected Utakata is 1st, but I didn't expect Otona no Jijou to rank so high (YESSS!!!). Pleasantly surprised by Juice's performance.

Nor surprised about Maachan being so high since this year she got a lot of exposure. 

Quite surprised that Ayacho didn't make Top 10 and Oda being at #3. I guess her popularity is rising.

^How old is the oshi rank thing? Riho is still in there, I mean she is still a H!P member but her spotlight has gone down a lot in terms of activity hasn't it? I'm happily impressed by Eripon's ranking, tied with Maimi is quite something.

"Aibou" is a (really) popular Japanese detective series (began airing in 2000), and now for years, fans have been noticing that some names from the series seem quite familiar.

 

On the January 1st 2016 special, an article in a newspapers mentions a certain "植村明梨". While the name hasn't been pronounced so we can't be sure, it can be read as "Uemura Akari", like Juice=Juice Uemura Akari and the way "Akari" (明梨) is written is the same as for Up Up Girls Saho Akari.

 

Well, just a coincidence, isn't it?

 

On the January 1st 2015 special, there's a high school student character called "生田里保" (Ikuta Riho), with the exact same kanji as for then Morning Musume。'15 生田衣梨奈 (Ikuta Erina) and 鞘師里保 (Sayashi Riho).

On the November 4th 2015 episode, there is a character introducing themselves as the "Japanese black curtain" [note: not sure for this] whose real name is "譜久村聖太郎" (Fukumura Shoutarou). Of course, you'll have recognized the first four kanji as "譜久村聖" read Fukumura Mizuki [note: reading the kanji 聖 as Mizuki is uncommon].

 

Well, all of these come from the scriptwriter Mano Katsunari, who is now supposed by the Japanese fans to be a wota, one of many in the entertainment industry, you could say.
