^ Generally they said that the Oda part made them feel very uncomfortable. The wota more or less acknowledge that they're trying to be funny and give Oda more of a character, but it isn't really funny and no one seems to like it. The most popular comment noted that it makes Oda-wota unsatisfied with her treatment but fans of the other girls don't really want to see them be so mean, either, and it definitely turns a lot of Oda fans off of the likes of Ayumi, even if it is scripted. Also a lot of comments blaming staff for not writing better material or not knowing how unpleasant this material comes out. 

 

For what it's worth, other groups do typically have a character like this, the "bullied" character, but they're generally a lot more outspoken against the teasing and maybe draw some of it their way just by their behavior, like Takechan, as an easy example. In this case, since it's less teasing and more just straight-up ignoring and since it's someone who generally doesn't really draw much attention to herself anyway, it doesn't really have the same impact and just feels weird. 

 

Thanks a bunch! IA with you, Take is a good example. I'm used with another group having more teasable characters but it's blatant that it's just for fun and the other party always complains or reacts accordingly. I didn't enjoy Haga's part either, but the way Sakura reacted to it made it worse. 

 

I remember people didn't enjoying Ayumi "being mean" before, but since I enjoy their relationship I didn't mind plus the fact Sakura answered back so it was more equal and more of both of them "dislike each other complicate relationship l o l ". But I kinda get people disliking it now somehow, since it's a kouhai and all.

 

Agreeing with what most people said here as well. Except I don't think Reina/Sayu helped them at all with variety and knowing how to handle a lot of this stuff tbh.

Because Sakura doesn't retort back. It just looked plain bullying and a little real. This is quite an opportunity, only Sakura's quite soft yet for it.

I'm still in the middle of watching this, but I have to say that Sakura's cute reactions to the neko cakes (not sure what to really call them) were way too adorable You can definitely tell she's a cat person by the way she said "Neko!"

I think you've got geisha mixed up with geiko. The girls are dressed up as maiko, which is what they call apprentice geiko

I must say that Sakura looked really pretty dressed up as a maiko The way she got all shy watching herself all dressed up was way too cute for words
