Back on H!P dvd mag 29 Tsunku said she understood the most about music.

She was 12, but in the aspects of rhythm, staccato, syncopation or breaks after certain number of beats she knew clearly what he was talking about. Something even some of the OG took time learning.

Have you been told recently that you’ve grown up? Has there been a change in your mental state?

This year might be the first time I’ve taken a good look at myself. I feel like I’ve been such a big burden to the members… In my 21 years of life, I feel like I might have never thought properly about how others feel.

 

Maachan, you’ve grown up! So you’re now able to consider your surroundings?

Nope, not at all. (laughs) People don’t change that quickly. But I’d like to change by the time I turn thirty.

 

I think that you’ve shown tremendous growth just to get to that point.

Of course I’ve grown, I’m already 21 years old!

 

We’ve been watching you since you were in primary school, after all…

There used to be a 10ki serialisation in ‘Up to Boy’ and you’ve seen me get into fights with the members. (laughs) When I had a school uniform photoshoot with Duu, I was so fat that I couldn’t fasten my buttons. (laughs) Lots of things have happened in these nine years~

 

We’ll talk about your 10ki memories at your 10th anniversary. By the way, you’ve unveiled your new songs.

This time, I actually slipped in to listen to the kouhai‘s recordings. They’re really good. It left me feeling super frustrated. Particularly Nonaka, Makino, and Kaga. The director told me that the other members did well too, which left me feeling even more frustrated.

 

That’s quite a large helping of frustration.

I really love singing, so I’m glad that everyone’s getting better. But when I think about myself, it only leaves me with frustration.

 

Is that where your power comes from?

It’s great that Morning Musume｡ is steadily levelling up. But recently I’ve been feeling that we’re a group of friends who can get close to one another. That kind of YouTuber-ish familiarity is nice.

 

So you’ll be making more frequent blog updates next year!?

On April 18, Maachan blogged that she went out with her best friend since elementary school who came all the way from Hokkaido to Tokyo

Maachan's friend is funny as well, Maa says her friend is very clumsy

and from the stairs we were chasing her for a long time

hi i just want to share this obscure video i found, it's a cover of maachan's song rin with aquestone and i had to do a double take when i saw it because 1) its a cover of maachan's somewhat obscure song she performed once then deleted the files for and 2) it's a cover with AQUESTONE???? but it made me very happy when i realized what it was. if you don't know, aquestone is a fairly early vocal synthesizer and is a little obscure as well, but one of its vocals was used as the sound source for the default voicebank of the program utau (which might be more familiar if you know kasane teto and/or nyan cat). anyway this kind of diverged but i wanted to share it anyway since its really cool to see someone took the time to make a whole midi and cover maachan's song lol
