I was doubtful about Meimi considering she was in idol business for too long, but she exceeded my expectation. It's pretty amazing, I wonder from what age stage performers normally start their training.

you know when j-idols go through training, and they're taught to sing a certain way (like it was on Green Room once I think that the KSS were being actively encouraged to squeak at the end of the line) I wonder if Meimi had to unlearn that when she left HP. Because everyone knew Meimi was a great singer already but her singing in that clip is like worlds apart from even Lilium

I suppose she never left her usual style and probably kept practicing, she wouldn't be this good if she had just sang in H!P all this time.

Interesting point about training and habits... I'm sure it's just a matter of tweaking your current skill set.
Speaking of that May. DVD, isn't that mostly the typical photo shoot video closeup type modeling video? I avoided that one because I don't care for those. I prefer seeing idols talk, interact with others or go out and do activities versus what looks like soft porn with extreme close ups and filters while they stare into the lens, if you catch my meaning.

I couldn't even recognize her voice from that song, it was beautiful.
I think she would ruin her voice more if she didn't decide to graduate from H!P. It looked like she was out of breath while singing after H!P started to make her strain her voice more (maybe after Choto mate kudasai). Who said that high-pitched or squeaky voice is bad? It's just that the right technique must be used. Her voice in this song is an evidence for my opinion.

I agree about H!P holding her back, she definitely made the right choice to graduate and focus on musicals. That Amazing Grace performance she gave is just too impressing.
