"Japan Idol File 2", a 6 CD set of indie groups, will be released on March 10, 2015!  Plenty of great groups.  I noticed Caramel Ribbon, Candy Zoo, FESTIVE, Onigokko, Sakuran Bom Bom, Himekko 5, St. Bonapro School, among others.  http://tower.jp/arti...02/03/n801 JIF2

Can't wait for Japan Idol File 2. Definitely a must-buy. Noticing St. Bonapro School, though, they've now disbanded, correct? I know the last Japan Idol File, all the groups chosen were currently active. Is it different this time? (Then again, it's possible that they are all still active. St. Bonapro School JUST broke up, didn't they?)

 

Anyway, I see a lot of names I'm excited for on there. Really excited for it, I've been waiting for this haha

St. Bonapro School did break up, but four members are now in Si Stella.  The two groups are pretty much the same, honestly.  However, their songs were previously mp3 download only, so this is the official CD debut for the song "St. Bonapro School".  It's possible this 6 CD set was a long time in the making.  By the way, I have a Si Stella thread on this website!  

 

Edit: I mentioned this in the Party Rockets thread, but as far as the last "Japan Idol File" only having current groups, there was a sort of exception.  The song "NO:ID" by B Flat was originally released on "LOCAL IDOL BEST!" on July 18, 2012 and then released as part of "Japan Idol File" on April 24 (date on the CD box) or May 1 (date on CD Japan) 2013.  The lyrics page for "NO:ID" in the booklet for "LOCAL IDOL BEST!" has the words "Party Rockets" in English surrounded by the signatures of the "Hatsukoi Rocket" lineup.  Which technically means that it is both a B Flat and Party Rockets song (and the CD debut of both groups)!  Now Party Rockets had their live debut on July 1, 2012, so this was three weeks after that.  But by the time "Japan Idol File" was released both Sato Hiyori and Konno Yuuka had left the group.  If you notice in the "Japan Idol File" fold-out booklet there isn't a photo of B Flat, just a logo.  That's because the six B Flat girls who recorded it graduated and were then Party Rockets (minus the two members who left), and not the then-current lineup of B Flat.  So "NO:ID" was recorded by a defunct lineup of a group that still existed, at least until August 2013 when B Flat broke up.

On an interview related to the TV Asahi's Idol Otakarakuji, Marty Friedman talked about wanting a Kouhaku for idols.
Come March 12th, at the event of Otakarakuji Party Live, they will organize a battle between 2 shuffle units of 3-man groups made of member from the participating idol groups. The shuffle groups are named Akagumi/Red Team and Shirogumi/White Team. And thus the begining of the Idol Kouhaku Uta Gassen that Marty Friedman envisioned.

In a sudden announcement on their official website, MC Hime and DJ Hikaru will graduate from the group.
Their producer from E-TICKET PRODUCTION, Yoshikazu Kuwashima(桑島由) contract also ends.

Looks like this is the end for Rhymeberry.

Oh, this is sad news. It says the group will resume with MC Miri and new members, but I can't really see it happening.

Idol rap unit “Rhymeberry” announced that MC HIME & HJ HIKARU have suddenly graduated from the group, and only MC MIRI remains behind. It was sudden and unexpected,  there will be no graduation events or something like that. No future plan has been announced but MC MIRI plans to keep the group going.

 

Along with the 2 members, the producer Yoshikazu Kuwashima, a.k.a. E TICKET PRODUCTION, also left the group at the same time because of the expiration of his contract.

 

Tokyo Girls’ Update has been featuring Rhymeberry several times. They showed an amazing performance at the solo concert from the end of the last year and seems that they were definitely on the rise.

 

Actually this is not the first graduation for the group. MC YUKA left the group in April 2014, but even after the shock, the group has been grown up so rapidly from now.

 

They will have their next performance on March 1st, and new members will appear on the stage. It seems that fans are really confused by this sudden change, so the March 1st’s performance is being anticipated with mixed feelings.

I haven't tried deciphering the text yet, or even looked at the photos. I did check out the blogs of Hime and Hikaru that announced their graduation. From what I understand, this was not their choice and they are both very upset about it. Well, heck, so am I. I'll give the new girls a fair chance, but it's sort of like learning to enjoy Rush without Geddy Lee.
