Hello! I'm ShiawaseWish. I used to have an older account on here, but I don't remember the name or the password, so I kinda made a new one. I don't have any idea where my old stories went, and even if I found them, they kinda stink so I don't want to re post them here. I would never re post anything I'm not proud of. I don't even remember what half of them are about. The point is, I do remember at least some of them, so I'll start here re-writing the one I do remember, and then I'll move onto some new ideas. I hope you enjoy my work, and don't be afraid to request something or give me tips. If you would like to request something, I would appreciate if you could do it by PM. Thank you!

But sometimes you don't notice them at first glance...

The autumn wind grazed the young girl's face, sending slight chills down her spine. She shuddered, pulling her jacket closer to her body to keep warm. The wind had blown a few strands of her hair out of place, which she grumbled at, but decided to do nothing about.

"Well Missy, you're here. Mr. Fancy Pants over there already paid me, so I'll be on my way. Nice place ya got here, by the way."

The girl gave a slight bow to the cab driver and quickly thanked him, reaching for her luggage. A shocked expression replaced her features as the suitcases were snatched from her sight. She quickly frowned.

"That won't do. You're new here, right? It wouldn't be all that nice if I made you carry your own stuff on the first day, so I'll bring it to your room for you." A voice chirped. The girl quickly turned to face another with straight long black hair and pigtails. She was dressed in an apron and a puffy frilly dress with a matching headpiece and boots.

"My name's Sayumi. You can call me Sayu...I've been working here for 3 years now, so if you have any questions feel free to ask me." She gave a light smile, but it really seemed to brighten up the girl's day, for it was the first she'd seen in a while.

"I'm-" The girl started, only to be cut off by a knowing Sayumi.

"Ai-chan, right?" Ai stared at her incredulously, confused as to why she already had known her name. It puzzled her and she found it be quite strange and creepy.

"How?" Sayumi giggled.

"You've already kinda made a name for yourself as the new girl. Everyone's been talking about you for the past week! You see, we don't get new workers here often, so once word got out that you were coming, the rest of us got very excited."

"Oh I see." Ai nodded in understanding.

"So I know this may just be a rumor, but I heard..." She stopped herself and a troubled expression took over her features as if she decided to word it another and was pondering over how to go about it. "Ai-chan, who were you assigned to work for. I heard that the mistress and master would like you to work for someone I know."

"Hmm?" Ai reached in her pocket and pulled out a small slip of paper. She cleared her throat and read aloud, "Tanaka Reina?"

"Oh my god. Oh no! I knew it!" Sayumi gasped. Ai panicked at her alarm.

"Knew what? What's going on? Is that a bad thing?"

"Oh, it's the worst thing that could possibly happen to you here. I really wish I could help you out here, but even I don't want to serve young master Tanaka. She's the worst. She's the master's daughter. Young master Tanaka is a major delinquent and prefers to be called "master" for some reason. She's rude to all the maids and treats us all like toys for her amusement."

It was at that moment that Ai knew she was in for it. Fate had it in for her, and although she never meant for this to happen to herself, and never wished for it, it was reality. Little did she no that she was in for a long bumpy ride. One that she couldn't escape no matter what.

Chapter #2: Introduction Part 2

But if you're naive, you may not know just how far those thorns may dig under your skin...

"What?" Ai gasped, "Wait a second. Please repeat that again."

"About how horrible young master is...or? I said that she treats us like dirt and uses us for her amusement." Sayumi repeated, shuddering at invisible thoughts that slightly frightened Ai. Her imagination was running wild by now, imagining horrible things that could be in store for her. One thought kept haunting her mind as Sayumi's words were repeated.

"Amusement?" She gulped. A tinge of disgust was evident in her voice as her voice caught on the word.

"Oh yes. If I were you I'd quit right now. Young master Tana-"

"What are you two doing?" Sayumi whipped around to face another girl around their age, dressed in formal attire. Ai blinked as she realized that this woman too, was dressed in male attire.

"Niigaki-sama!" Sayumi exclaimed with shock, "You surprised me. What are you doing here?"

"How many times must I tell you? It's Risa. Anyways, we had just finished a conference between my family and the Tanaka household." The girl named Risa stated. Sayumi suddenly grew worried, and furrowed her eyebrows.

"Is this about the financial issues? They aren't resolved yet?" She questioned worriedly, firing random guesses as quickly as she could. Risa laughed heartily and raised her hands up in defense, giving Sayumi a gentle pat on the head.

"Hey. Don't worry about it, okay? It was just a small loan. Besides, we're still one of the strongest contenders in the nation. This is just until we buy out the last company in the industry and dominate it. With this loan we'll be able to do that, and then we'll be back in business." She breathed a sigh, "Hopefully." She muttered under her breath.

Sayumi didn't seem to catch this, but Ai cocked her head in confusion. She wanted to press on about the matter and ask, but knew that it was not in her place. She didn't even know this girl, and from the way it looked, was in a totally different social class to even speak to one of such a high rank.

"Seriously!" Sayumi pouted in a cute manner, "Sometimes I wish you'd take things a little more seriously. If you end up disappointed again, I won't help you this time!"

"Don't worry. Don't worry. It'll all be fine. Trust me."

Ai fidgeted, feeling out of place, sitting in on the two's conversation. She shifted the weight of her luggage to her other shoulder, uncomfortably, and debated whether to leave and go to her post.

"And who might this be? I haven't see you here before." Risa questioned, directing her attention to the nervous young girl. Ai squirmed under the sudden attention and nervously opened her mouth to speak, only to be interrupted by a enthusiastic Sayumi which she felt relieved for.

"Ai-chan! She is new here! Oh! Oh! And guess who she's assigned to be a personal maid for!" Sayumi squealed. It became obvious that the girl had a love of gossip and rumors. She stood on her toes to whisper in the girl's ear, as though it was a secret, although Sayumi, Risa, and Ai, herself were the only ones around. Risa's face suddenly grew pale.

"Really, Ai?" She gasped in disbelief, "You've got it bad. I've been dealing with her for 10 years now, but I only see her every month, and I know I wouldn't want it to be any more than that. But everyday...imagine that...and her maid? Are you sure you don't want to get a transfer? I could see if we could slip the previous maid back in the position."

"I'm sure Koha-chan wouldn't mind it." Sayumi insisted, "Koharu's been really quiet ever since she worked here, and she never seems to have a problem with anything." Ai debated this for a while, and answered with a simple "I'll think about it."

Oh yes she would. She now began to plan how she would go about this matter. Of course she felt sorry for pushing the duties on this "Koharu," but if she really wouldn't mind then she would be happy to give the job away. She would give this, so called "horrible" girl a chance, but if it didn't work to her liking, so she would be glad if Koharu was willing to take the job.

"Takahashi Ai-san. If you have arrived, please enter room 215 immediately. Young master Tanaka would like to speak with you. I repeat, please enter 215 immediately."
"Speak of the devil." Risa breathed, "Good luck...and I mean it because you'll need it."

And with shaky steps, Ai slowly made her way into the mansion, to her destiny. She had known only a little of what was to come. Too little. It surely wasn't enough to be prepared for the trainwreck to come.

Chapter #3: The Meeting

But some roses' wounds cut deeper than others...

She felt her hands slightly shake at the thought of meeting this nightmare of a girl. If she were to rely fully on the rumors, then...She shook her head. She'd rather not consider that option, even if it were most likely. It wasn't as if she'd be abused, but Reina sure as hell wouldn't make it easy on her.

Her shaky hand gripped the doorknob, knuckles turning white, and slowly pulled the heavy door open.

"You wanted to speak with me?" She questioned politely. She took note of the girl's appearence. She was dressed in attire mimicking that of the girl she had met before; Niigaki Risa. Ai figured that most higher class people wore similar clothing. The girl wore an arrogant smirk. Ai could see why the maids seemed intimidated by her.

"Why aren't you wearing your uniform? You are aware that you're supposed to be workin here, right?" She sneered, with only a minuscal glance towards Ai.

"Oh. But I was told that I wouldn't have to work on the first day." Ai explained carefully. She watched every word that came from her mouth, figuring that even the slightest things would displease her boss.

"You work for me not my parents." Reina grumbled. There was a hint of venom spat through her words as she had neared the end of the sentence. "Parents." Ai made a mental note not to mention Tanaka Reina's parents in front of her. It hadn't seemed as though they were on especially good terms.

"I see. Should I go change then?"

"I don't know. What do you think I meant earlier?" She rolled her eyes sarcastically, and uncrossed her legs before crossing them again another way. Ai's teeth sank into her bottom lip as she balled up her fists. She ignored the pain, and tried to concentrate on keeping her head cool. Anything to get through the next five minutes of conversation with this jerk, and then switch roles with Koharu.

"I guess I'll go change now. I'll be back in a few minutes."

"No need." Reina replied blankly, "I only called you over to see what type of person you were, but you're just like all the rest. You bore me. You're dismissed. You can now go do whatever it is that you low-class trash do."

Her nails dug further into her skin, as she imagined ways she would love to see this bastard die. If you're low-class, you're considered trash? So what if her family didn't have enough money and she ended up with this job? So what if her bastards of parents decided to just lea-. She stopped herself in the middle of her thoughts, and tried to gain her composure back. It was best not to think of them. It was best not to think of things that would only bring back bad memories.

She gently closed the door on her way out, but not before sending Reina a dirty look that had gone unnoticed.

"So how was it?"She jumped at the sound of the voice, and turned to face her stalker.

"Niigaki-san? You had me scared! Were you following me?"

"Sorry!" She apologized, "I just got really curious as to how things would go. So?"

"She's a jerk." She stated bluntly, "There isn't much else to it. The most ill-mannered person I know." Risa nodded, as though she half-expected that answer.

"Well, I have business to attend to now, but I should be back here in about two weeks to go over some papers with the Tanaka's." She explained.

"Why are you telling me this. I hardly even know you!" Ai giggled. It was strange how she was talking as if Ai knew of the situation, when she really had known nothing yet.

"I just thought you might have wanted to see me again." She winked, causing butterflies to flutter in the young girl's stomach. Her face suddenly flushed, and she wasn't all that sure why. She constantly began telling herself that Risa was way out of her league. They lived in totally different worlds.

Suddenly, a thought popped into her head. One that bothered her for a while. She clung to Risa's sleeve as she began to leave.

"Hey." She began. Her gaze dropped to the floor as though she were almost afraid to meet her eyes, "Do you think being low-class means someone is "trash"?" The girl blinked, before laughing hysterically at Ai's question.

"Who told you that? Was it Reina?" She paused to catch her breath, "Seriously, don't believe anything she says. Reina's just...well, that's just the way she is. I think you're far from trash. I think you're perfect the way you are."

Cue that warm butterflies in the stomach feeling again. From this moment on, Ai believed that she had a plan on how to live a peaceful life at the Tanaka residence. Little did she know that those plans were about to come crashing down, and it would be by her own hands.

Chapter #4: The Switch

But some roses must crumble while the weight of others selfishly lean on them...

"Hey, Ai! Sit with us!" An energetic voice called from a few feet away. Ai's pace quickened to meet that of Sayumi's. Sayumi's hands fell to her side as she politely invited the girl to sit with her group in the garden. Once the girls had reached their destination, they immediately began on their meals.

"In case you don't all know already, this is my new friend Ai. She started working here today, so we should all make her feel very welcome!" Sayumi introduced. Ai giggled, as she sounded as though she were talking to kindergartners rather than her own co-workers.

Ai had taken a seat next to Sayumi, and another light haired girl who introduced herself as Kamei Eri. The girl was very welcoming and had high expectations for them to be great friends.

"They are Junjun and Linlin." Sayumi explained, gesturing toward two other girls, one with short hair and one with long hair "They are exchange students from China. They were both a bit short on money when they moved over here, and were pleased to find that this job payed more than enough, and they met all the expectations. They both work here only for half the day, and go to the Tanaka's private school." Ai nodded and introduced herself to the two as a polite gesture, although Sayumi had already announced who she was.

"Hey! You forgot to introduce Koha-chan!" Eri blurted, when it had looked as though Sayumi was finished introducing everyone. It was then that Ai noticed the quiet girl for the first time. She seemed so timid and shy, almost as if she was afraid to talk to anyone. Ai took note that she had spoken to no one the entire 20 minutes they had been eating, and argued with herself whether this sweet girl was really willing to put up with someone so rude and obnoxious.

"Sheesh! You should've said something Koharu! Otherwise, I might really have forgotten you! Speak up sometimes!" Sayumi nagged the girl, who's face just turned a pale pink tint. She cleared her throat.

"U-Um...M-my name's Koharu." She stated blandly, in the smallest whisper of a voice ever heard. In fact, even the wind had overpowered her voice, making it hard to hear anything she was saying.

"Takahashi Ai." Ai bowed, sending the brunette a gentle smile. The girl nodded her head in response, but produced no want to carry on the conversation further. The uttered no more words.

"Oh right! Ai! Didn't you have something you wanted to ask Koharu?" Sayumi exclaimed, to cut the silence that had prolonged for about a minute or so.

"Oh yes!" She realized that she had forgotten so suddenly, "Would you mind switching jobs with me? I heard that you have been working with Re- I mean young master Tanaka for years now, and you probably know how to handle her better than I do." Eri began giggling uncontrollably at the statement she had just made. Her light hair bounced with every breath she took to control herself.

"Nice way of putting it!" She giggled, wiping away the tears that had built up in her eyes from laughing so hard. When she finally had gained her composure back, she opened her mouth to speak again. "So I guessing you hate him too?"

"Uh..." Ai caught a look at their expecting gaze, before dropping her own to her feet, and muttering a quick "Yeah."

"I knew it!" Sayumi clapped, "That's how she is to everyone! I told you she treats us all like dirt! Oh, and just wait! She'll do even worse things if you don't stop working for her now! But you wouldn't mind exchanging, right Koharu? You said you liked working for her!"

Ai stared at the girl incredulously, who fidgeted uncomfortably under the pressure of everyone's expecting eyes. She nodded her head reluctantly, which almost immediately dropped down afterwards. Ai had noticed for the rest of their lunch break that she never had brought her chin up again.

After they had finished eating, and all the girls went back to their positions, Ai followed Koharu to what she believed was the worker's office where they were to request their switch. Koharu had stopped her with a shaky hand as she was about to enter.

"Will you hear me out because no one else would?" She asked, her gaze averting towards the ground. Not once had her eyes met Ai's, but she could tell that Koharu was trying to use as much of her little courage as she could. Her voice had become drastically louder, to the point that Ai could hear her loud and clearly.

"What's wrong?" She asked, trying her best to use a gentle tone with the girl.

"I understand this is very selfish, but please...please..."

"Please? Please what?"

"Please don't make me go back there."

Thank you so much! I'm really glad that you enjoy my writing, especially since I'm a big fan of yours too! ^.^ Don't put yourself down, because I think yours is very interesting. The concepts are great, and I really love the dialouge. My dialouge stinks, and the monolouge and descriptions are always too short. Sometimes I feel as though I'm rushing the story too much...

I had just finished Chapter 5, and I must say it is not what I have intended it to be at all...I think I've just created another mystery in the story when I hadn't really planned to, so stay tuned. Good stuff coming tomorrow...

Huh? But I love your stories. They are simple, but adorable, and they have drama. Our styles seem very different, like this one I am writing is more of a made up fiction one in which I just add the characters and make it totally OOC. But yours is like a real life situation! It's like watching/reading a real teen drama! I love them!

Chapter #5: Secrets

But some roses are overshadowed by others who stand tall before them...

"Please don't switch?" Ai repeated slowly, a thousand questions tugging at her mind. The fear in the young girl's voice was evident, frightening Ai a bit. She sounded all too desperate as though her life depended on this chance.

"Please..." She whispered in a pleading tone. The questions continued to pile up in her mind, as the girl uttered nothing but the same word repeatedly. Her eyes began to water, and it looked as though silent tears would fall at any second.

"Koharu, I won't understand if you don't tell me what's wrong!" She reasoned, in desperation to find this "important secret" the girl needed to spit out. Koharu sturggled to catch her breath, her voice wavering tremendously.

"Don't make me go back there. I-I just can't."

"What do you mean you can't?" Ai had become frustrated. It seemed as though she was continuing to repeat the same questions as Koharu could do nothing but speak the same phrase. She wasn't responsing with any answers, which irritated Ai so very much. It wasn't as though she could have any idea what the girl meant if nothing was said.

"It's true. I have been young master Tanaka's personal maid for 7 years now, and I j-just...I just don't think I'd be able to handle another second. People say I don't talk much. People say I'm so quiet, I have to speak up, that I just am shy like that. Well, what if I'm not? What if I don't because I can't? 7 years. I've faced 7 years of this torture. And it's not like she can just erase everything that has already happened just by transferring me out!"

Ai was shocked, for it was the first time she had ever heard the girl, whom she once believed was as timid as a rabbit, raise her voice. She spoke with power and enthusiasm, with words mixed with hatred, speach never wavering...She spoke with strength. It puzzled Ai how this transformation could have so suddenly taken place, but what puzzled her more were the words that were spoken. The questions continued to float through her mind as more puzzle pieces were revealed. Torture? Must have had something to do with being Reina's maid. Because she cannot speak?

"What do you mean "she can't erase it"?" Ai asked desperately, as a horrible thought had suddenly crossed her mind, "What did she do to you?" She roughly grabbed the girl by the shoulders, in an act of fright. She feared the secrets behind Koharu as Sayumi's voice haunted her mind. Amusement...She uses them for her twisted amusement.

"I-I..." The broken hurt look on her face surprised Ai in a way. It told her so much of what had taken place, but reflected just how far away she still was to figuring everything out. Suddenly, her expression became one of a cold dark gloom. "I'm afraid that is not something I have the right to speak of." Koharu answered, as though she had finally remembered her place and her job.

"This doesn't explain why you want the transfer...Please tell me."

"I just don't want to go back there...When I said that it wasn't as though she could erase things by throwing me out of her sight, I didn't mean that I wanted to continuing being her maid." She corrected, hoping Ai hadn't misunderstood, "I meant something totally unrelated, and I apologize for saying anything that may have confused you. I was emerely speaking out on my emotions, and forgot that there were other people present...Anyways, I beg of you...Please handle Tanaka Reina for me. She scares me. I don't want to be controlled by her any longer. Because of Tanaka Reina, I am who I am today." A pout made her way to her face, as she gestured to herself in disgust, "She made me this...this emotional wreck of a mess, and I want to fix it. I want to slowly but surely regain the courage to be able to face everyone and show them who I truly am, not the Koharu that was Tanaka Reina's doll. The true Kusumi Koharu."

Koharu's words had moved Ai. She felt warm near this girl. Although she didn't know it, Ai believed that the speech had proved that Koharu was strong and full of courage. She was the strongest person Ai had ever seen, and she felt a tug at her heart. She wanted the world to see this girl. Not the quiet shy girl from before, but this outspoken courageous girl who was ready for the challenges ahead.

"Okay. I'll do it. Koharu, consider yourself free of Tanaka. It's a switch."
