Up Up Girls (K) has been invited to perform at @JAM EXPO 2020~2021 on August 28 & 29, 2021. The festival is being held at Yokohama Arena from 8/27 - 8/29 to celebrate the 10th anniversary.

Aoyagi Yume has tested positive for COVID after experiencing a fever. Her condition is fine so far.

 

Test results for the other UUG(K) members, plus UUG(2)'s Niikura Ami, and 3 members of staff that are all considered "close contacts" have been negative. They will refrain from activities for a time.

 

In addition to postponing various single promotions, UUG(2) will appear in their place at Roppongi Idol Festival 2021 [DAY-1] on 7/31, the collaborative SPOOKY MIX in Sanrio Puroland event scheduled for 8/1 has been canceled, they will not appear at IDOL CONTEXT EXPO @ Shinjuku BLAZE on 8/2, or the Soyugu ~soyugu~vol.2 event on 8/6.

Are they dropping the pretense of continuity with the old kakkokari, or is it just you dropping the pretense?

It has been over a week already, but UUG(K) dropped 6 music videos at once with an ongoing competition where the MV with the most views by April 16th will see the director of that video having control over their next MV. The songs used were tracks from their recent Apuga Yabai mini-album.

Although the quality has been acceptable from each of them, I've personally most enjoyed the video for Bokura no Voyage. Just plain white garb, paint, a canvas, and all of the freedom for friends and group-mates to have as much fun as they want.

I was hoping I'd get back into their music with these videos but I really only kind of liked one or two of the songs, and still not enough to seek them out on my own time. I've never consistently loved all the UUG(K) music but this is especially a downer since there was such a good streak of songs (for me) before the member changes.

Both UUG groups (kakko Kkari AND niki) will have a 2-man live on 7/17 at the Liquid Room. This will, of course, be after Maachan's graduation.

So... what's up with the Up Up groups. They're apparently not part of Up Front anymore, they don't release any new music, their yt channel is mostly dance practice video... i think they were supposed to add new members at some point but nothing happened...
