Anyone who buys the new single can vote...the single will come with a ticket with some numbers on it, you then use your phone to go on the voting site and enter your special number,then you can vote...

that's what they did for last year's election and AX, they will probably keep the voting system the same....

If the voting process is the same as last time, then yes foreigners can vote. But it involves some back and forth tweaking of various browser settings in order to access the vote page (it's not so difficult as there are instructions).

What you do is that you pre-order the single, or singles - considering 2x Limited versions, 2x Regular version and 1x Theater version will be released - and that 1 single = 1 ticket, 14 singles = 14 tickets, etc.

Pre-ordering means you avoid finding out things like "Only first press will contain voting ticket" and seeing that pesky "First Press Sold Out" message. Of course, how many copies you want is solely up to yourself.

As for who gets what position, well - #1 and #2 will probably be between Acchan and Yuko - don't expect miracles... These girls have the most fans. Also, what's important to consider is that AKB48 have a massive sea of mainstream fans, who almost all are only into front girls because these are the only girls they really know. So it's really difficult for lesser known girls to make an impact, but in the end knowing that one supported ones oshimen is what counts I think.

I hope to see Amina in Top 10 - but I know this is incredibly difficult, nearing on the impossible...

if Yui will somehow end up being either second line or media

By the looks of it, there is no NMB in this election right?

My predictions:
* #1 and #2 will stay the same
* Tomochin might overcome Mariko
* Takamina will overcome Mayuyu (I don't want this to happen but Mayu's popularity has dropped a bit, as Mayu no Tame ni only came 64th in AX....)
* #7 and #8 will be between Harunyan and Yukirin
* Sashi will be in media senbatsu
* Yokoyama will be second line senbatsu
* more SKE members will be in UG (I hope Airin gets to be an UG)

I'm actually curious how artificially pushed girls like Sashi and Yui will do. Kind of management push vs. what fans actually like battle.

Not that I do not like Maeda or Oshima (quite the contrary), but I do hope for a surprising top ten.

I would really like to see Takamina in the top 3 or at least 4th, I would be extremely happy with that! Of course Yuko and Acchan are going to be 1st and 2nd, thats a given lol. Maybe Mayuyu will get top 3 she is getting really really close! I would also like to see Matsubara Natsumi move from the bottom >.<!

As much as we love the SKE ... she really wanted to depart the vote this year ... An election of SKE ... would be a dream for me because they are already an idol group important.

Tomochin I think is likely to reach the top 3 ... mariko or Mayuyu think it will come down some positions. I'm sure the Queen Rena overcome princess Jurina ... s2

Hey guys, still kinda new to this senbatsu thing. so this is essentially a vote for the fans (and the girls) to see what each member's ranking against each other am I right?

I remember briefly watching a video of minegishi receiving some glass award in a massive hall for 14th place in something... was that part of senbatsu?

ok, dw lol, I did some reading around the threads and found my answers At first I thought senbatsu ranking was just for the special edition of weekly playboy. Didn't know it determined all these other things for the members too. wao~

Oh, and I'd like to see sumire move up the ranking, 2nd line might be too long a reach for now

My 2 votes will be for Moeno, hoping she moves up in undergirls or maybe sneaking into senbatsu.

My predictions:

1. Media senbatsu will stay the same, though there will be some shuffling of positions(1. Acchan 2. Yuko 3. Tomochin 4. Mayuyu 5. Marikosama). I can't imagine anyone of those girls dropping out for akicha or sasshi.
2. Sayaka will move up to 15th
3. Myao, Harugon, Amina drop in ranking, Amina just making senbatsu.
4. ^Replaced by Rabutan and Yokoyama
5. At least 2 more SKE48 members in undergirls, if NMB48 is apart of the election either Watanabe or Yamamoto will make undergirls.
6. So with that said probably 1 of the RS that made it last year will drop out along with Matsubara, Yonezawa and Katayama

I think we can expect sasshi and especially yui to advance as they've been pushed quite a lot lately. Really hoping for myao not to drop even if i predict that will happen

If Yui doesn't make senbatsu, all the pushing was for not. Not really though. There's the possibility some fans might resent her taking the spotlight to their less pushed girl. Maybe Shiichan could be center of Undergirls?

Would like to see Mariko center (since she'll probably graduate soon), but that is not likely to happen.

I like too many girls who don't have much of a chance of making senbatsu now so I'll just see how things unfold.

^I don't know about Yui making senbatsu, but I'm pretty sure she'll at least be topping UG. Besides, it doesn't matter what position she gets if the management wants to keep pushing her they will, like what they did and are still doing with Maeda Ami although her popularity is only that of a Theater Girl.

Finally gave in and ordered 2 regular editions from hmv to go along with the 2 limited I ordered from cdjapan. All my votes will go to Moeno, I'd like to put 1 vote for Marikosama but I think Moeno will need it more.

Does anyone have a link to detail about the dates of the election, voting period/result release day? I followed the link at the top but it didn't have that info.
