I think these girls deserve their own thread by now... I know they have at least a few fans lurking here!

For an introduction, please see my blog post on PASSPO☆.

Also, I made a compilation DVD and put it on the tracker.

Now for a bit of news: if I am reading this correctly, it looks like PASSPO☆ will have a live talk show every Thursday at 19:00 Japan time, starting January 13 2011! Tune in and check it out!

They have also been known to do some live UStream concerts, so keep an eye on their channel for more information!

They debuted about a year and a half ago.

Five of the girls were on "nico nico" Friday night. Here's a great report on it from a devoted blogger!

I've been listening to them for a while now. I'm glad they have their own thread. I still don't know all that much about them, so hopefully I'll get to know them better though here.

One question I have about them: do they sing live, or do they lip synch? In watching their performances, it seems to me that most if not all of the vocals are prerecorded. Maybe a few of the girls sing live and the rest lip synch? I don't really mind that much, because their dancing is very energetic and entertaining in its own right (love the choreography), and I can see how it would be really hard to sing well while doing all those moves.

Okay, they seem to be singing live in this video. But the main reason I'm posting this is because I love the wota chants from 2:25 to 2:40!

their performance at Tokyo idol festival was very impressive, so full of energy with catchy songs... i tihnk i like that one from the video more because all the fans participated, that makes it extra cool

With a lot of new Japanese girl groups being nothing more than bikini idols posing as lackluster pop singers, I wasn't holding out hope that PASSPO would be any different. Fortunately, I was wrong! With the exception of one or two songs, I really enjoyed their CD. My favorite songs are probably the first 4 tracks with "Sweet Lies" being my favorite.

I can feel my love of J-Pop slowing returning.

^ The crowd was echoing the "wah-ohh, wah-ohh" parts, but at one point they sang "Mio, Mio" instead (after MioMio did a little individual dance during the wah-ohh wah-ohh)... it made me LOL... I loved it because Anna and MioMio are two of my favorites.

The only bad thing about that performance is that Anna wasn't wearing her glasses
