Ebichu will be holding auditions for new members. I don't know if Kashiwagi changed her mind or someone else plans on graduating or if it's a reaction to Ayaka's diagnosis or what, but it's very exciting.

Ok - that is surprising!  I'd had the feeling that Stardust was going to keep the group as-is, and just let them age gracefully until they finally closed the group out,  But then again, Momoclo's probably one member away from breaking up, and Team Shachi's also down to four members, so maybe it's a choice between adding a new generation to one of the top groups, or bringing a few groups up in the ranks (which takes time).  And of those three groups, Ebichu is the closest to being multi-generational as it is.

 

On one hand, I want Ebichu to continue, and I had been hoping for auditions after Aiai left, but on the other hand, my first reaction was Don't steal anyone from Ukka!  Mizuha would be perfect in Ebichu, but I've grown attached to Ukka, and they really, really need her. Although I like the idea of merging all of Ukka into Ebichu (but then again, that's more of a Wack move than something I'd expect Stardust to do).

 

Whatever happens, this is very interesting news!!!

i mean, we already went through KahoRiko but i think we all had this image of them having the current members as their lineup until disbandment...even if it was hinted with the creation of Sakura Ebis at some point.

 

it's just been too long, if this had happen when AiAi left, it would've made more sense.

anyways, i hope the new girls do great and are on the older side (15+), the current girls don't seem too thrilled though, specially Omochi

I'd like to see them add three (or maybe four) new members - I've always preferred 4-nin generations for Morning Musume, because it seems like more of a rejuvenation for the group, and not just an incremental addition.  If Ebichu is going to adopt the MoMusu strategy for continuing the group, I guess I'd like to see them go all in.
