Hi everyone, I'm Jim.

I'm new here.

I have a question on Moa's graduation.............

After watching again tonight, I noticed that during the goodbyes at the end of the show, Moa removed her necktie and was holding it and then putting it in her pocket. Does this have some kind of meaning, or was she just feeling crowded and decided to just remove it? This is the first time I have seen one of the girls do this. Can anyone shed some light on this?  Thanks!!!

It just falls off towards the end of "See you"

The only other time I've seen that happen is with Nene during the Pastel Wind performance at the 2013 Sakura Gakuin Festival. I'm not sure exactly what "it" is, but she manages to pull off the rest of the performance one-handed!

Has anybody heard if Yunano attends to keep her Instagram account open while she's going to school? I didn't see any indication in her last post that would say yes. She has lots of fans that would like to stay in contact with her.

A friend of mine is quite the big Yunano fan and he said she'll terminate the account just like her career. She'll be another Nene.

I've been listening to the 2016 Nendo ~Yakusoku~ CD and wondering if anyone else thinks the songs sound like they're playing faster then normal? To me at first I thought I was listening to the chipmunks.

Not faster but the voices seems to be pitched, they've always done that.

I'm REALLY miffed by the small amount of original songs on the last two albums...

At the start they didn't do ANY re-recordings - every year a full set of original tracks.
They need to spend more money and get some new songwriters in or something, but this re-recording trend is some lazy bullshit.

It feels ike they cut the budget a lot after babymetal members graduated.

Not at all, it was just distributed differently. Just think about all the new things they did. They keep constantly branching out, doing things they never did before. For a unit like SG it doesn't even make sense to have loads of new songs every year, that's just not the kind of group they are.

I suppose but they definitely changed a lot of how things are done since then. That's just the impression I get though.

What makes them different from other groups in that regard? And they used to do it... so what changed?

Music should be one of the most important factors. And releasing new music should definitely be a priority.
I'm getting tired of hearing the same songs for the past 2 years...

I'll tell you what:

They are getting too comfortable, and complacent fans like you are just reinforcing this mindset.

A lot of the appeal of SG is their history and the family vibe. How often do you see other groups hang out with graduates, even have them do cameos occasionally and be still partly a topic despite not being in the group anymore. And SG is mainly a training ground for Amuse talent. Their purpose isn't to go super big and make lots of cash. For that they got Gen Hoshino, Perfume, BABYMETAL, Porno Grafitti, One OK Rock...Also each nendo focuses mainly on the direction the graduates of that year might go. This year was mainly acting focused because that's the field Sara & Mirena want to pursue. Therefore they did the stage play for example which took a lot of time, energy and of course money. The reasons they used to have more new songs was because it made sense and their catalog of songs wasn't as big yet. Even now fans are complaining "they didn't play this song" and a bigger catalog of songs will only increase that happening.

And since you said music should be a priority, why don't you give this a read to see how much was put into creating the band versions: https://www.reddit.c...nd_members_and/

There's a lot more heart and soul, passing for music, in this than writing maybe 2-3 more new songs which might eventually just drown somewhere in a big catalog of great songs.

I really prefer a group like SG to K46 for example. Seeing how SG, which just had 3 new girls join, have a much better dancing sync than a big group like K46 (seriously, it's horrible if you really pay attention to it) is just baffling.

Back on topic: Sure I get wanting new songs. I'm not too happy with yet another version of Piece de Check on the album. But considering how awesome this nendo was yet again with all the things they did I don't mind at all.

So if you want quantity over quality maybe SG just isn't for you? Luckily, you can follow just about any other idol group and they will fit your desires just perfectly.

Thanks for taking the time to write out this post. You've definitely put things into perspective, and I can see where the group is focusing their time and energy.
But I still think they could do all those things AND STILL release new music. If you look at Hello!Project and Stardust it's obvious that it is possible.

I just want the quality and quantity at the standard they set between 2010-2013.

And a bunch of band versions of old songs belong in the "Disc 2" of an album.

Maybe they don't have the finances to do everything. Maybe these girls don't have the stamina of, say, Ebichuu... I don't know.
All I know is that I'm not super happy with 2016 Nendo ~Yakusoku~. I'll be listening to it sans the re-releases just like I did with 2015 Nendo.

It's still a good (4 song?) album though :)

For your sake I hope you listen to the re-recordings first, they sound pretty amazing (the Band versions, not Piece de Check: Take 3. I agree with you there). I was never a fan of Otomegokoro but the new version blows the original away IMO, and I actually listen to it rather than skipping which I usually did with the original. The only noticeable flaw I have found so far with this new album is that the Band versions make non-band songs like Identity actually sound under-produced! :P

But like iwabo said, a lot of effort has gone into these band versions; even if we aren't getting a more expanded catalogue at least now we have higher quality recordings for future lives.

I think of the recent albums as school annuals or yearbooks. The contents may be similar but the personnel and performances always change. The Band versions are fantastic.

But I do agree that hearing Piece de Check three albums in a row is getting tiresome.

Most likely, it usually takes some time for them to make tweets / release photos though. Wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait till after the next LoGiRL.

It will also be the last LoGiRL unfortunately due to TV Asashi shutting the service down (budget cuts I guess). On the bright side, it probably means we'll get to see all girls again...and maybe even some surprise guests to send it off? ^_^

About the group photo..............

Please identify the graduates in the photo. I think I got most of them but without makeup, who knows!

IMO this is not a real appealing photo of the group..

That's not a flattering photo of Hana and Suzuka! Sorry!

You would think that Amuse would be more careful on how there talent is shown to the public.

Babymetal should represent better than this. Don't think Koba-metal would be happy with this shot.

Not trying to be negative, just saying, these are all idols, right?

The graduates are private people in the picture they appear as they want to, not sure why it bothers you so much.

Also Hana isn't even in the picture.

From left to right the graduates are: Mariri, Suzuka, Nene, Raura, Moa, Yui, Marina, Rinon, Yunano, C-chan.

In the picture below it's: Hinata, Raura, Nene, Marina.
