Her "breakthrough" moment with what regards where her popularity started to skyrocket, was the SHUKAN AKB bungee jump episode.
This episode was also the reason Moeno got her "Bungee" nick name (for Majisuka). An epic episode!
They rarely do such epic stuff anymore on Shunkan AKB... it's a bit lacking lately in that department. Probably time/ schedule constraints all over the place.

Apropos...
Is it just me or does she do exactly the opposite of this on "Waratte Iitomo!"? She often hides from the camera behind the (rather larger) comedians or guests. Also those comedians don't seem to have a sense to put the eyecandy in front of them as if they couldn't see enough if they are standing behind Rino.... pff.
Just some observation.

But if I understand Google's translation of AkiP's Google+ post about Rino's solo debut, then the record companies really had to fight to be able to sign her. Seems everything that's AKB48 these days converts to pure gold, so there's hefty competition there to catch a member. I guess they could make go anyone in the senbatsu going solo currently.
