Wow, I was shocked when I heard the news, since she is one of the most popular girls in AKB48.

To be honest, she is one of my least favourite members (so dare I say good riddance sorry, that was a bit uncalled for... ), but I'm still shocked. I did not expect this at all.

I never like graduations, especially not for girls I like. But I guess it's better to focus on the potential positives for her rather than negatives...

How are the graduations?
Her graduation concert won't be a concert in the theater right?
I had a little breakdown and started crying.

Usually graduations are announced in the theater...

They all hold hands, and do their collective bow down, then up, and run forward to the crowd to thank them after the performance, and before they run forwards, a girl with some announcement goes "Chotto matta!", and at that point people go "EEEeeeh!?" (usually expecting the worst)

Then the graduation news, girls crying, fans shouting, etc. And then the graduation itself tends to take place in one of their big concert events (NHK08, NHK09, Budokan, etc.)

It usually is the girl graduating coming up to the stage, receiving flowers from each team member with some comment by them, captain of the team speaking or some such, and then one last performance together with the team/group.

In the case of Oshima Mai, there was a very nice surprise. The two 1st gen members of Hoshino Michiru and Orii Ayumi surprised Maimai by coming, and then singing a song to Maimai, which Hoshino wrote.

Well they are idols, and Akimoto, producer of AKB/SKE/SDN - is the one who basically made everything we know about idols today, back in the early 80's (Shuffles? Akimoto. Graduations? Akimoto, etc.)

So these things, considering that you know how Morning Musume graduations are, can be very tearful.

If she's leaving Japan before September, I think - and hope - that she can get her graduation concert in the Budokan, or at the very least with Team K - during the national tour this August.

I suppose that Erena will be in everything related with the new single, so until they are not done with events and all that…

For all the bashing I've done to AKB48 before... I've really come to love them now...
But her english is terrible so I really hope she doesn't go to the USA.
I'm sure this concert will have alot of tears lol.
Not only is she leaving AKB48 she's leaving Japan so she won't be able to meet up with the other members as much.
Still... why Erena?
