It was just a matter of time after she lost her captaincy of Team K.

 

Just like with her fellow marathon running NMB member Ainyan she brought power  to the genre of idols.

 

Well, now we can definitely say that DiVA is finished.

Maybe Umeda can recruit members from the sister groups that are both good at singing and dancing to make a second generation DiVA. It would suck if DiVA gets completely axed, since the idea of having a unit with the best singing and vocal talents (or a mix of both) within the 48 group to show the full capabilities of Japanese idols in general is a very good thing to have to disprove the doubters.

 

They could also bring in next generation AKB girls like Tano (strong dance and decent vocals), Iwata (strong vocals, decent dance), Mutou (strong dance and decent vocals), Fujita (strong dance and decent vocals, will most likely grow to have a great idol figure), Iwasa (strong vocals, energetic dance), Fujie (decent vocals and dance, idol figure) and Yamauchi (strong dance, developing vocals).

 

These girls are strong enough to be in units on their own, and will be even better if you give them a few years more to develop their skills, to grow up physically and mentally, and enough time for serious PR.

I'm still trying to process this. Sayaka has consistently been one of my favorite members. She always seems to give 110% in everything she does. Many of my most memorable moments from watching AKBingo, Shukan, and Nemousu involved her.

 

In regards to DiVA, maybe it could be reborn as an acapella type group. I was immensely impressed my the acapella performances from AKB's Kouhaku and Request Hour.

DiVA didn't feel or look like an idol unit, Sayaka and Masuda made sure of that. They will be a pain to repalce.

I would appreciate if AkiP still wants to keep this unit alive though but the selection of members are crucial. Not too cute, not too high pitched voices, girls that shows you that they are in charge.

Since I started following AKB48, which was not that long ago I admit, Sayaka has been one of my favorites. I hate that she's graduating. Well if she's focusing on an actress career like Tomi said then hopefully I'll be able to see her in some movies or tv shows. Best of luck Sayaka!

That first photo really makes me feel nostalgic. So many familiar faces from Nemousu, AKBINGO and Shuukan AKB, all of them now graduated.
