Acchan definitely is the #1 most popular AKB48 girl! She's not my oshimen, but she has qualities that makes it easily understandable why she's popular with so many.

Acchan has been my favorite since 2006. Since the beginning there appeared to be something special about her that set her apart. Take a look at, for example, the A1 Stage video and the Private video and the Making of Seifuku ga Jama wo Suru or even the early TV shows.... Acchan was very special then and continues to be today. The little clip of her and Takamina on the Zepp Fukuoka DVD is heart-warming.

Acchan was the girl I noticed first, most likely because she's at the forefront of things all the time, and so she was my favourite member for a long time before I found Suuchan.

Like many other people...she was the first girl from AKB48 I was able to recognize and identity. A lot of this of course had to do with her being at the front of EVERYTHING but of course, she's also a super cutie which helps haha

I just recently got into AKB48 over the past month and Atsuko is my favorite. I don't deny that her being so prominent in all the PVs played a part in my favoritism though. In any case, she is adorable and has a cute personality as well.

BTW, does anyone sometimes mix up AKB's Acchan with Perfume's A-chan? They've my favorite members from both groups and their names are almost identical. As a result, I just call her Atsuko.
