Actually, Kanon Fukuda only wrote the lyrics; Kohei Ishii wrote the music and did the arrangement.

That's what people mean when they say wrote, they are referring to the lyrics.

If they were talking about the composition then they would say composed and if it was the arrangement then they would say arranged.

I'm sorry. It must be because English isn't my principal language; but when I tell a person that I wrote a song, I mean I took a tune out of my head and conveyed it onto a piece of paper as notes on a musical scale. There is no way I would ever mean I write lyrics because there is no poet in me to create them.

A composition notebook is meant as a collection of written words and what has been composed is occasionally reviewed by the student's teacher. So, if I understand the verb correctly, any written words, even lyrics, can be composed.



I don't mean to quibble, but what @rcb2418 stated was ambiguous and because I follow Fukuda Kanon, I just hoped to clarify.

If I was wrong and for being off-topic, Katsuta Rina, I apologize.

If you listen to the preview on iTunes, you'll mostly hear a honky tonk piano intro and very little of Rina's vocals. It's a cute song that is definitely worth USD 1.29 to honor Rina and I will play it while leafing through her book when it arrives from CDJapan.

Thanks Mizukingdom. That's the way it's referred to here. The other aspects are part of the composition, yet when we say writing we mean the lyrics.

This can also differ depending on the country you live in.

It’s great, I’m really happy she got this for her send off. Maro wrote some really nice lyrics.

So the day of Rinapuu’s graduation has already dawned. I will not be able to watch her concert sadly, but I will try to catch up on it as much as I can later on.

She’s become a member that’s really dear to my heart, especially after Angerme’s Paris concert, I had a rather memorable interaction with her at the handshake that still makes me smile when I think about it.

It will be sad without her in the group for me, but she seems to have no regrets and is confident about her new path. I really admire that.

Congratulations on graduating, Rinapuu.

The irony of the argument about what "wrote" means is that everyone knows Maro is a lyricist........but she recently wrote that she wants to get into composition too!
