dazaruce I have to give you recognition for including Maxwell's silver hammer on your list. It's one of my favourite Beatles songs and often a lot of people don't seem to have heard of it.
I find it difficult to narrow down mine but I guess these are the ones that come to mind immediately:
Manic Street Preachers - Australia
Green Day - Jesus of suburbia
Nightwish - The poet and the Pendulum
Jimi Hendrix - Johnny B. Goode (I know it's not an original Hendrix but I like his version the most)
Blue Bark - 42 Miles. This one has particular signifigance to me because I know the lead guitarist/singer of the band. It's his original song that he wrote and I'm a real fan of it. Plus he always tributes it to me when he performs it, even if I'm not there
