I use twitter actually a lot! I'm on it for mainly updates or subs. I made lots of friends there too. Just gotta fit in the right group there and it's enjoyable

^oh that's understandable! i usually just explain it as, if twitter was split into a bunch of minecraft servers that all connect to each other. there's no algorithm or anything so it makes finding other people a LITTLE bit harder but otherwise it's really not that hard to get the hang of haha. i assume ur on mastodon.social? i'm on radical.town lol

 

I do have an account on social. Where can I search for some cool "instances?" Like old J-pop or whatever?

afaik there aren't any jpop themed instances, but there is one based around kpop (kpop.social) if ur interested in that. otherwise i suggest looking for smaller chill general instances as those are good for p much anything. here's a good list of some instances like that, along with some based around more niche interests, but if u wanna look around a general index of instances and find one more close to your own interests instances.social is pretty helpful ^^

I did a search at instances.social and man, it's so hard to find one via that search engine.

 

Being a member of multiple instances just feels so humbug to me. Is this normal? Do peeps normally join several instances and just manage them all at once? Feels overwhelming to me.

hmm ppl seem to do it as like an alt thing, where they have an alt or two on different instances, but i've also seen people manage like a ton of accounts on diff instances at a time lol. personally i only have one alt, but it's for an instance based around an interest i'm not really into anymore so i haven't touched it in a few months tbh. i can't really manage multiple accounts at once without one becoming inactive so i usually just stick to one account per platform

 

it's hard finding an instance but really if ur totally lost abt it i recommend sticking to .social, or joining .online which was just made bc .social is so big lol. that, or u can try finding a smaller general instance like i said, which is a little less overwhelming than .social, but really it's ur choice hehe

Got it. Communicating between peeps in different instances is doable. Actual managing of multiple instances... forget it.

 

Social instance is one big twitter-like organization. I'll keep looking around for one more to my liking.
