Do you guys think, if Karin was added into Momusu, it could be Tsunku's decision. But she added into new group instead, perhaps management had the other decision.

OOT, imo Tsunku-san tend to added all the best talent into MOmusu (frequently, not all time). And that period (2013) was the last time Tsunku-san in charge of everything if I'm not mistaken.

Tsunku heavily produced J=J in its first few years. 

I'm not saying that J=J was Tsunku's consolation prize (side hustle) while MoMusu was being taken away from him... but if MoMusu was being slowly taken away from him, he would have wanted another group to work with.

And that aside, J=J had a lot of firepower right out of the gate, and just needed a few years of guidance to build teamwork and humanity.  (Tsunku's actual producer superpower. (separate from his songwriting superpowers))

Even if Tsunku was heavily involved with J=J too, it's not like he is in control over everything, we don't even know if he actually picks who makes it into MM, so him wanting Karin and management deciding on something else for her despite his wishes is still a possibility

Today's blog post was great too.. She talked about the time where JJ were nominated as Best New Artist at Japan Record award, about their first live tour (Naruchika & News=News), admiring Berryz's Shimizu Saki, about her 'deficiencies'..

For those who haven't, you should read Karin's blog. She basically wrote a series of mini auto-biography, with description of events that happened around her life since before she joined H!P Egg, some juice=juice behind the scenes from her pov, what she thought about them at that period, etc. She write them daily in chronological order. They were super interesting especially for Karin and JJ fans.

Karin was involved quite a bit in the latest Kenshuusei Happyoukai (performed today!).
 
As shown in last week H!P Dream, she appeared as a surprise third judge alongside Kenshuusei teachers Maki-sensei and Mariko-sensei for the group battle between three (randomly formed) group to decide which one will perform in the show. The song is Juice=Juice first indies single "Watashi ga Iu Mae ni Dakishimete yo", so it's made sense for the one who know most about the song to be a judge. Massive pressure to the Kenshuusei though lol.

Last week Make A Wish tour setlist was Buono! Festival. With Airi and Miyabi in the same show, they perform many Buono! songs with other performer (Pink Cres members and Karin) took turns taking Momo's lines. Talked about it in her radio show, Airi has an interesting impression about Karin.

Those who watch a lot of Karin's solo performances might know this already, but when she sing a group song by herself, she often have tendency to imitate the original singer. I can imagine she's (knowingly or not) trying to imitate Momo's singing, probably a little bit too well

I wonder if anyone realized, but she cut her hair shorter!

 
Not much though. It's easier to see in video. When she asked if anyone notice anything different, some thought she (finally) die her hair. lol

 
I was hoping she would let her hair grow longer again. I think she looks nice with long hair, and she can do some cool hairography with it.

Though sometimes she reminds me of Maeno Ema instead of the other way round lol

Just announced at her Instagram Live: Karin will hold a solo concert show at Nakano Sun Plaza!  May 2nd 2021.

This will be her first solo show since her graduation in December last year (not counting FC events), and her first solo at Nakano Sun Plaza. Since graduation she's been quite active, being one of the core performer in the ongoing M-Line special concert tour Make A Wish.

Her solo tour in 2019 were held in Zepp halls, so venue wise, this is a nice upgrade. I expect them to only fill with half capacity though, so around 1000 people.

 

FC advance reception starts today.

Karin is now managed under JP Room, moving from Up Front Promotion. She joins fellow J=J ex-member Miyazaki Yuka and close friends Kudo Haruka and Katsuta Rina.

Karin will be a guest judge in the upcoming Kenshuusei Jitsuryoku Shindan Test! So her involvement in the recent Happyoukai is just the beginning. I wonder if she's being prepped to be a mentor or something.
 

Updated information for the Shindan Test this year. The Hello Pro Kenshuusei Unit members will not participate in the solo performances. Miyamoto Karin will appear as a guest judge.

I'm liking this performance a lot better than the one at her graduation concert, if not simply because she actually sings in the correct key.   It's kind of frustrating knowing how great she would as a singer if she doesn't have to struggle with her pitch control.

As usual, she come up with the title just like her first solo tour title.
