Karin doing solo concerts whilst still in J=J seems a bit suspicious to me, especially since we haven’t had a member promote as a group member and a soloist since the early 2000s. I wonder if Karin’s going to graduate from J=J to become Hello! Project’s next soloist, so UFP’s starting to build her momentum now rather than waiting until after she leaves. Karin would be one of the perfect members to be a soloist, given her solid fanbase, great performance skills and her songwriting.

I guess the way the manager doesn't heavily rely on her in J=J explains for preparations for solo debut.

The fact that she has enough fans to make a profit on her doing some side-work means they are going to have her make some money doing side work.  It makes fans happy. It makes singers happy.  It makes the agency money. Chill out people.

So I guess they are planning for her solo career soon. I think management will be playing it smart this time round. Keep her in J=J while letting her release solo music to test the response. If she does well, she may graduate. If she doesn't, she still has J=J as her main platform.

 

But I wonder if her graduation would kill J=J's popularity. Though considering she is the face of J=J but recently, she has taken a back seat recently (following her medical conditions) where she doesn't chalk up a huge number of lines. So perhaps her graduation may not impact J=J's that much.

I don’t think it will. If it was still the 5nin days I’d be worried but all the girls have strong fan bases and there isn’t really an unpopular member, or a member that has less fans than the rest (not counting the two new members for obvious reasons). Juice is one of the best in the company right now for showing off everyone fairly equally, especially considering their 5nin years where Akari and Yuka got a lot less than the other three (though Yuka had that problem even after the rotating-group transition up until her grad, Akari got bumped up quite a bit). I think they’re solid. This group is easily the most stable right now and will continue to be for a while it seems, even if there’s more grads.

I hope that Karin doesn't graduate anytime soon even after getting her mini solo concert tour. I don't think my heart can handle anymore of my oshis' graduating this year.
