i have

2 X book shelves frm IKEA in my room for my CDs, DVDs.

1 X drawer for e pictorials (i only have a few)

4 X 320 GB HDD seperated by 2 HDD tower casing.

:)

still im missing e whole series of 2002 hello morning. tts my only regret. + of coz a few of those utaban files and other miscellaneous files.

I thought of getting multiple hardrives myself, but I guess I need the money to buy more H!P stuff instead.
I have two HDDs,one capable of holding 160 GB and the other 80 GB of data.I may get a 300 GB one this X'Mas,but I'll have to see.
You told us what you did in terms of storage, but what about keeping track of what you have? You wrote you had almost everything(how I envy you!!),but you most certainly have backups of all that stuff and the like. How do you know where you stored the files you downloaded?

On the computer:

I have VERY specific folders and sub-folders and sub-sub-folders and sub-sub-sub-folders

Physical Media:

I keep everything on a bookshelf if it's larger than a cd case, if it's a cd case, I have it on this nifty little display stand that shows them off more or less.

Not to mention a HUGE excel spreadsheet that lists all this stuff (and is STILL being compiled after 2 practically 3 years)

I use Advance Disk Catalog. Put in a disc, push a button, and it automatically adds it to your database. Makes it easy to search all the DVDs I have. Well worth the $20.

I use a freeware called "disclib" which allows me to add files and search the database afterwards. Only thing is you can only search for one word, e.g. ("zone mizuho" does not return files containing zone and/or mizuho in the filename, only the exact phrase "zone mizuho"). I only found out about this after I backed up like a dozen DVDR's. :P But for freeware it's pretty good.

Also in addition to using disclib, I use "Karen's Directory Printer" (also freeware) to output filenames and details of each DVDR into a plain text file just in case, if I want switch to a database option (MySQL) in the future.

I'm using Access DB. I started with excel but it just got to large.

Currently it not only keep track of file but who is the artist, description, file size, location, type, bitrate, number of tracks, DVD # i burned to, date of broadcast, version. Very Massive.

from that i have queries set up to bring up tv shows, pv etc or via artist or location.

There is another software called something collection. Don't remember the exact webname.

Personally I am very behind in recording stuff to dvds to free up space off my external HD's. One 160GB and another 400GB.

If it's all the same thing or similar, I write on the disc. If it's less organized I write on the disc and I use the 'Track List' sheets that come with the empty jewel cases I buy to be more descriptive.

I burn and label lots of dvd-r's. Then I usually create an excel documentation or word with details of the dvd-r's. One day I will have a server box where I can store everything... that would be nice, costly, and a bit hit to the electricity bill. :)
