I am continually amazed at the Japanese value system. To have the entire team bow in apology for the actions of one member ... The MM managers seem to have done a good job of protecting the image of MM. Whenever there is something potentially negative, they quickly take action to protect the public image.

Well I am embarassed to say I kinda forgot about Abe. So I just went into my collection and viewed a couple of years old PV of hers. Wow, she was stunning at that time. I can imagine now, OMG! Looking forward to her return.

I agree that they should have fact checked it. But then again, how does one fact check a poem? You would have to know every poem that has ever been published. Does a person like this even exist?
Even a machine would fail in this. The lines are changed a bit, and when you would let a machine search for similar lines then I'm betting one would get tons of similar lines in tons of different poems. A year would go buy shifting through that debris. A job like that would be like applying for a mental institution.

But in this case Nacchi was accused of copying song lyrics by Tetsuya Komuro and others. Those songs were pretty famous at the time.

And the fact she was accused for plagrism for her PB published in 2000, I sense some conspiracy here...

Although the editors really didn't do a good job of proof reading. "-_-

Conspiracy? That?Ls really how I feel too. To be publicly embarassed like this, really have to mean certain death of a career. And for something she did 2000? It really feels like someone wanted to get rid of her.

If I remember correctly I don't think it was just the 2000 book.
Oh and one of the others was Aiko.

Maybe one reason she didn't get caught sooner is no one expected her to copy other ppl's work?

Speaking of that, I think she got caught when she was reading an 'original poem' on her radio show. And some ppl noticed it wasn't completely original, to put it lightly. That was when they went back and started looking at all of her works to see if she'd done it before.

I still think she brought it on herself.
If she hadn't copied other ppl's work none of this would have happened, and she'd never have had to go on hiatus and into hiding.
More importantly no one would have been having massive Nacchi withdrawls like they have been. I feel sorry for them the most. The ones not able to get their Nacchi fix all this time, The Nacchi addicts. *nods* Not only was Nacchi punished, but all the fans that still cared. She's done her time, so all we can do now, is wait and see what happens. As well as hoping for the best.
